We were reading a book in Spanish class and it had the word ticket in Spanish in it but I can't remember what it was. I checked on freetranslation.com and it said "entrada" but I don't think that was the word. Are there any other words that mean ticket or pass in Spanish?

Yeah, because I'm learning French in school but also on my own, I have my own coursebook and audio CDs. And the French word for ticket it billet and I was trying to remember the Spanish word for it because I knew it was something kind of similar so...yeah.

Good question! Where I come from the word ticket can be heard meaning different things and it's considered an anglicism, that is, a word borrowed from English and used in Spanish (though spelling may vary!!!)
A ticket for a show, the movies, theater, is ENTRADA
A ticket you get for traffic violation can be MULTA (me pusieron una multa por mal estacionamiento) or BOLETA (me hicieron la boleta por mal estacionamiento - Argentina)
For transportation it's PASAJE - a plane ticket is un pasaje de avion
For a bus or train it's BOLETO - boleto de tren
When you leave your coat you get RECIBO

I know there must be other uses and I hope other people go on contributing so that you get a thorough answer.

A ticket sold at the box office is either billete
or boleto, depending on the country.
In Mexico it's most often billete.
