The best way to build a relationship with someone is to get to know that person. The more you know about that person the stronger the relationship becomes. You get to know what pleases or displeases him, his likes or dislikes, ect... It's no different with God and the best way to get to know Him is through His Word. The more we read the Bible the more we know what God expects of us and what He doesn't. Prayer comes more easily because the Bible will teach us how to pray and the things we should pray for. A strong relationship with God will only come through His Word.

By believing in him and reading the Bible. He is our Creator and Jesus, his only begotten son, died for our sins. Read the Bible and draw close to God, the first thing is to know his name, and that is Jehovah. It says it in the Bible. Believe me, I had a hard time too, until I started praying and reading the Bible. Bible is a true book, it doesn't lie, nor does God. God is Love and a Just God. He Loves Mankind. Just remember he created us in his image. God does not lie and neither does the Bible. Good Luck with building a strong relationship with our Creator. God Bless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prayer, prayer and more prayer. Not just the holy church day prayers we so often hear, but simply talk to God all day long. Give Him thanks for the smallest of things, ask for His guidance and wisdom in every decision you make. Read His word daily, but be sure to ask Him to give you the wisdom to know and understand the bible and how you can better serve Him by understanding His will. I used to just read the word and left empty many times. Now I pray before I even open up the book and ask for the reading of His word to be blessed and now, not a day goes by that I don't find something new in His word to help guide me into doing His will.

Spend time with Him.

Pray, get into His Word, praise and worship, daily! When you are trying to build a relationship with someone you spend time with them. The same holds true with God.

the more we pray to God, the closer we come to him. The more we give God praise for the things we go through, (good or bad) and give the praise for things we have that he has gave us, we come even closer. we come closer to God by being in his word daily through prayer asking for the guidance of the holy spirit. we don't only become closer to God, we will be strengthened against the attacks of satan. we will know by being in Gods word what is of God and what is not. by being in God's word, we know people of God also. John 7:17 to know if it comes from God or not. Luke11:13 God sends the holy spirit to those who ask. James 1:5 If any of you lack knowledge let him ask of God... and it shall be given him. what method of study do the scriptures recommend? isaiah28:10. 1 corrinthians 15:58 be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. Matthew 7: 15-23 we shall know them by their fruits. (their action, their speach, the treatment of fellow human beings, etc etc.)
