You don't mention how old you are or what grade you are in. But there are a few possible explanations. Probably, there is nothing *wrong* with you. You are who you are and you just need to find things that you are good at and enjoy.
Another possibility is that you have a learning disability. This would *not* mean you are slow or stupid, but have some difficulty processing information, which is what slows you down. You should be evaluated by a professional (start with a guidance counselor) to see if that's the problem, and then get treatment. I have many friends from college who had learning disabilities who started out slow in school, but once the issue was identified, started to excel. For example, a friend with dislexia didn't read until he was 10, but is now finishing his PhD at an Ivy League university. His trick? Taking notes on yellow legal pads with pink pens (strange, but true).
Now, I'm not saying that this is your problem, but a great tragedy in American education is undiagnosed learning disabilities. It's as good a place as any to start.
Regarding lack of athletic ability--I was like that too. I was slow, had no coordination, hated team sports, etc. So I grew up overweight and out of shape. Then I discovered physical activities that are fun, social, and where no one else cares how good you are. For me, it's biking (people in bike clubs are very social and friendly). Other people run. Others ski. You can do it at your own pace and skill level. The important thing is to stay healthy, and don't get discouraged about physical activity just because you can't shoot a basketball.
Anyway, good luck. I hope this helps.

are you by chance a perfectionist? I've always had that problem. I'm no good at sports or anything and, even though I'm a good student, I'm always the last one done with tests and things... I think part of my problem is perfectionism, part of it is that I have some chronic illnesses that make it difficult to concentrate. I guess the most important thing for you to do is to figure out exactly what is making you so slow. Are you losing your concentration? Are you having a hard time recalling information? Are you tired?
There are some "learning disabilities" that could cause you to be slow (not mentally). Things like dyslexia or ADD could cause some of these problems because you have to take more time to compensate for the disability. There are also a few other medical conditions (vitamin deficiencies, etc) that could cause something like this. If it is really bothersome, talk to your doctor. It could be a real help. Also, I don't know how old you are, but you could talk to your academic advisor. They could help you get test taking tips to help you take tests "smarter". Good luck!

Some people are just slow at taking tests. it is not a big deal. some people do better having the questions read out loud. As far as athletic ability and coordination it takes practice. Lots and lots of practice to become good at anything. Those people that make it look so easy have had to train extensively. If you want to be good at sports then you have to practice.

Of course not! If you are a slow learner, that just means you learn at a different pace than most people. Some people learn best through demonstration( actually seen and heard how it's done), hearing (as if someone is telling you how to do something), or seeing (i.e. reading directions). Nobody is considered mentally retarded if they learn at a slow pace. It's just the way some people learn.

Not everyone has those gifts, but I will bet you have other important gifts.
Do you have anxiety when you take the test? That can be helped with getting some test taking strategies from your teacher or tutor.

Everyone is different don't get yourself down over this at all. As you go through life you will find that speed only comes from practise. And as they say practise makes perfect.
When you find your thing in life you will see the smoke coming of your feet.
