This isn't for me...I'm a friend's support person and she's not sure about reporting (I'm trying to get her to) so I'm just trying to get some answers.

absolutely. this would qualify as an Emergency and he may be able to come back for a little while. while nothing is 100% guaranteed( I cannot sit here and tell you he most definitely will be allowed to come back), the chances are very high that he would be able to.

once she submits the police report, she can contact the American Red Cross and request an Emergency Message. This will go to the nearest Chaplain to her husband, who will then make the determination as to how to tell him. then he will be given the opportunity to request Emergency leave.

In the meantime, have her seek out counseling from MilitaryOneSource. These are FREE and no Tricare referrals are necessary.

The Army can offer counseling/medical treatment. Was the crime committed on post or off post? Someone would notify the red cross and the soldier might be allowed home.

It honestly depends on the unit. Some are very supportive of family and will try to get the soldier home on emergency leave. Other are like "if we wanted you to have a family we'd have issued you one." I hope your dealing w/ the former and not the later.

he could file a hardship paper work to go home beings a tragic crime has been commited and he would be no good in iraq. I hope this isnt a lie to try and get your hubby out of iraq.

send the rapist to iraq to die and be slaugtered there...then take his testicles out and give them to the husband to feed them to the dogs or smash them by the army tank, then go take a long paid vacation to stay by the wife for support.that is only the least fair thing to do.

Oh goodness.
I hope this is just a hypothetical question.
It's too tragic for my brain to compute over the weekend.
