Running easy along with controlling your calorie intake is the most effective way to lose weight.
Each mile burns about 100 calories, it takes 3500 calories to lose one pound.

So successful weight loss requires a good diet and exercise.

Your low intensity running could be burning as much as 500 calories, which adds up to a lot over a period of time.

Weight and weight loss are so very personal, so how's one to know without a really detailed medical analysis which most of us can;t afford. But fact is, the more exercise you do the more calories you burn.

Some factors that play a part in the calorie burning are frequency and length of time. I'd suggest you slowly work your routine up to a full hour a day, except 1 day of rest. The body doesn't start to burn fat as primary fuel until after about 30 minutes of exercise, so adding the extra time will add some benefit. Also, your body continues to burn calories long after you've finished your workout.

I almost never suggest to beginners to diet because the body needs fuel to adjust to running. But if you run 50 minutes a day you aren't really a beginner, so I'd suggest you begin to limit and control your diet. Drink lots of water, walk, run, or swim an hour every day except 1 then do stretching and upper body toning. Eat fruits & vegetables.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

DO NOT RUN WITH ANLKE OR WRIST WEIGHTS! that can cause strain which can result in injury...what you are doing now should be very helpful, but remember that you have to combine excercise with a helthy diet in order to lose weight....make sure you stay hydrated..and since you are running a lot make sure you get enough iron because otherwise you could possible become anemic.....you may also want to vary your form of excersise sometimes...swimming laps or cycling are other great cardio workouts...varing it up will help relieve stress on joints that you get when you run every day

Start with 1 mile, then 3 miles, 5 miles, back down to 3 miles, then 1 mile. Varied speeds and times will keep your metabolism guessing and your body will not feel deprived and go into a fat conservation mode. Variation is the key.
