Well, not actually c rap, but I asked another question and apparently Pedigree food is junk. I thought since it was a big name brand that it would be good. But, my dog has the runs and everybody here says it's junk. She just recentlly (about 3-4 months ago) started eating Pedigree wet food and has has diarreah most of the time. Beofre that she ate MutroMax dry food, but I changed her due to a minor illness that she has since gotten over. Soo, what is good food? Should I go back to the dry NutroMax? I have no reason not to, she just seems to like the wet a lot better so I kept buying it. Any suggestions? She is a 6 YO English Bulldog, if it makes a difference. Thanks a bunch.

Well, don't take our word for it:

I find it amazing that Pedigree can spend so much $$$ on their ad campaigns and put so little into their food....

You could go back to NutroMax. I think that is a good food. I think there is better out there but the prices go up and up. I feed Timberwolf which is expensive and I have to watch my budget closely to afford to keep him on it but to me it is worth it. Soft food does cause upset in some dogs but they also love to eat it. They dont connect the dots about "if I eat this, I have that happen" Only you can do that. That being said, the higher end dry foods DO carry can foods which are very very good. I feed Timberwolf kibble and mix in half a can of the Timberwolf soft food to the kibble about every other day. He loves it and it is good for him. I wouldnt ever do all wet though. Just dont think you can never ever give wet food again because that is certainly not true. Just buy higher quality and you can feed it just fine.
A few great brands to check out besides Timberwolf are California Naturals, Canidae, and Innova.
Hope this helps. It is good you are researching and you should just remember the saying "once you know better you do better" on this one. I fed my dog Science Diet right up until I knew better. The info isnt exactly widely available with all of the marketing going to the foods that we shouldnt be buying.

I used to feed Pedigree too. I thought it was high quality because of their ads. Unfortunately, it's one of the worst, lowest-quality of the heavily-advertised brands.
Yes, most dogs prefer moist food over dry food. Generally, the dry food is healthier, especially on the teeth. Of course, there are wet and dry foods of healthier brands, too. You could do a mixture of wet and dry food. She'll probably like that. Or you could add yogurt or something to her dry food to give it a little more appeal.
Good job for looking to get a top-quality brand of dog food. There are many good brands. I'd suggest that you browse the resources below and choose a food based on 1. your budget, 2. what's available in your area and 3. what your dogs like/how it effects them.
Personally, I tried several good brands, including Canidae and Solid Gold. They all gave my dogs wonderful coats and healthier look. However, I eventually decided to feed Artemis because it was the first food that significantly minimized my dog's gas.
I trust the Whole Dog Journal's annual report on dog foods. It is not available for free online, but this is due to the fact that WDJ doesn't take ads and so is unbiased. You can buy their report on dog foods, though. http://www.whole-dog-journal.com/
Also, this is a pretty good site for finding good foods: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/

of course she likes the wet food better it has tons of artificial flavors. go for a high quality dry dog food such as canidae, innova, or chicken soup brand. they might seem expensive but in the long run they r a lot cheaper. ur dog will eat less and get full faster. besides pedigree uses a lot of corn in their foods which dogs cant digest. switch her to a better food u will be glad u did. u will see improvement in her coat and not to mention wet food is really bad for their teeth

Big name foods=more money spent on advertising than quality ingredients.
I gave you list of high quality foods in your other question so I'll skip that here, but I wouldn't go back to the NutroMax either.

McDonalds is a well known brand name food too - doesn't mean it's healthy or high quality.
Here are some high quality brands I recommend:
-Innova
-Innova EVO
-Wellness
-Solid Gold
-Timber Wolf
-California Natural
-Merrick
-Canidae
FOods to stay away from:
-Pedigree
-Iams
-Beneful
-Nutro
-Kibble 'n Bits
-Alpo
-Science Diet
-Royal Canin
Anything at a grocery store, or liquor store, gas station, or drug store.

IT'S VERY IMPORTANT WHEN YOU SWITCH DOG FOODS, THAT YOU INTORDUCE IT SLOWLY. Meaning you mix their current dog food with part of the new dog food. each day you mix less and less of the previous dog food, and more of the new dog food.
Obviously, you could ask a vet. just don't switch foods regularly, it upsets their digestive systems!!
don't 4-get to love your dog always!

Go back to Nutro Max that's what I feed my bullies. It's good food balanced food if you feed kibble. You might also want to try raw.
