J.: Not really. I believe it's possible, but it's clear others don't, so I'm wondering what those people have to say about it. Just curious.

Mamichula: It makes perfect sense. K people I guess I should explain this to you, since many don't get it: Being agnostic means you don't believe the existence of God can be proven. However, I still personally believe in Him, even if I don't think it can actually be proven.

Fallon: 1. Don't call me "hun" and 2. See above explanation. Wow I didn't think this many people wouldn't understand. I'm not ATHEIST Christian (that would be contradictory).

The Gnostic Christian: Hmm... Can't I personally have faith that God exists, but AT THE SAME TIME believe that there is no way of absolutely proving His existence to the world? I suppose I believe in an afterlife, where God will preside, but I don't believe there's any way to prove it. Also, I really don't think the term "gnostic" pertains to me, but maybe I'm wrong? Any thoughts?

I think the term you are looking for is Gnostic Christian (like me). Don't feel bad. In the beginning I made that same mistake.
agnostic- One who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God.
-One who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism.
gnostic- a member of any of certain sects among the early Christians who claimed to have superior knowledge of spiritual matters, and explained the world as created by powers or agencies arising as emanations from the Godhead.
So as you can see, you can't be agnostic and Christian.
edit:
Well, first off, you sound like me, lol. But the fact that you said that you do believe that there is a God, though there is no scientific proof that He exists, really abolishes the chance of you being agnostic. If you are agnostic, you are basically saying that you don't know either way (and I'm srue they don't really admit to believing in a god, or in being atheist).

I guess my brother is one of those.
He was a "Jesus Freak" back in the 70s. He believed in speaking in tongues and things like that. His wife isn't religious, and their kids aren't raised with any concept of religion. It's kind of like he put his religion on the back burner for the sake of his marriage.
I know, maybe it's not very nice, but sometimes I watch faith healers on TV for entertainment. Once I was watching one of those shows when my brother was visiting. He was obviously uncomfortable and asked me to "please turn it off." It's hard to get him to say anything about it, but I did get him to say he's a "doubting Christian."
I was raised Christian, but I never really felf comfortable with it. I considered my self agnostic or atheist and used to make fun of my brother's religion when we were in high school.
Now I'm the religious one; I converted to the Baha'i Faith in 1984.
It's funny how things work out sometimes.
I guess we might belong to a certain religion, but every person has their own personal interpretation--some of which may be contradictory. People are contradictory.
I'm not trying to say what you should do. Your path is your path.
"Gnostic" to me implies having some kind of secret knowlege that is not shared by the majority. I didn't get that impression from anything you wrote.
"Believing in something that can't be proven"; well, I'm sorry, but I think that's called "faith."
I can't "prove" anything about my belief either but I don't think that makes me "agnostic."
If you put it that way, then every person with faith is "agnostic" to a degree.

ag·nos·tic
–noun
1.a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limited to experience.
2.a person who denies or doubts the possibility of ultimate knowledge in some area of study
Chris·tian
–adjective
1.of, pertaining to, or derived from Jesus Christ or His teachings: a Christian faith.
2.of, pertaining to, believing in, or belonging to the religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ: Spain is a Christian country.
3.of or pertaining to Christians: many Christian deaths in the Crusades.
4.exhibiting a spirit proper to a follower of Jesus Christ; Christlike: She displayed true Christian charity.
Your term "agnostic Christian" is an oxymoron. One cannot be a follower of Christ . . . while doubting the existence of God.

Seems a little contradictory/ but I suppose I was like that for a few years. I was still technically a Christian since I was baptized Presbyterian (actually I haven't changed my religion, but I don't consider myself Christian anymore) So I know what you are going through.

I was too, in my teens. By the time I was 21, I could proudly say that I threw off the yoke of religion and was an atheist. I have never had a reason to go back.
Peace on earth to all.

God and Jesus do. You should have your Christian self discuss your Agnostic self's doubts with them. If you receive no sign or response...your agnostic sign has won. If you do receive a sign, time for your agnostic side to cross over. :-)
Edit: Yes, I know what an agnostic is and my answer still applies. I'm clearly seeing how unenlightened you really are based on your responses and your misunderstanding of mine. I'm not a christian, so I get it more than you give credit for.

What exactly is a Agnostic Christian?
If it is believing just to be on the safe side of things, then sorry to break it to you, but if a human being can see the intention within that, So can God.
