Emotions get in the way. I was living in Texas when the big Hispanic immigration rally went on -- did you get that elsewhere? People seemed unable to separate the illegal immigration issue from an across the board prejudice against Latin Americans. Hispanic people who were American citizens were all riled up, believing that the country didn't want anymore Hispanics and considered Hispanic-Americans to have no value. Try as you might, you could not convince them that they had missed the point. I know many people were not so devoid of logic, but the loud ones were. All I could think was that these protesters believed that that WAS the way to come to the US and this was the first time they had heard of applying for immigration visas. So they all trooped down to City Hall and made the majority of good Hispanic-Americans throw up their hands in despair.

I am a fourth generation, Mexican American, I have experienced prejudice from Mexicans from Mexico more then Anglo Americans. I am not excepted as a true Mexican, being called names like Pocha and passed on good jobs in the past because I did not speak spanish.(that is a form of prejudice) I am tired of seeing people from Latin Countries have bumper stickers like( Michocan the Pueblo they are from waving their flags in my face and telling me how great Mexico was, well if it is that great go back. They dont want to except American traditions, that also goes for asians and especially( now Middle Easterns, wanting us to change our calanders to suit their religion) its a slap in the face. I am tired of everything being in other languages, this is America, learn our language. I am also a business owner with my husband who came here as a little boy, legally with his parents from Mexico. We have 15 employees, I have been in business 14 years and have had 3 false workers comp claims done to my Company done by Mexicans from Mexico, who want to cheat and make quick money off my hard work. That is not true they work for cheap labor they are not humble workers As, Obama stated in his speech today and do not work for cheap labor anymore. People get mad at the American Government, I never once hear the illegals, blame Mexico's corrupt Government and how they don't help their people the rich stay rich and the poor stay poor by their own Government who is in bed with the drug Lords. Those who say there is no difference between Mexicans from Mexico and Mexican Americans there is. Mexican Americans are not heard. If you come to this Country legally not illegal respect our traditions and be loyal, learn English.

To be honest with you, I have observed that even many of the supposedly "educated" Mexicans on this site(well, they could write decently) seem to have very little sense of how important the laws and orders should be maintained.
Every time someone raised questions about the illegal aliens' continuous law breaking behaviors, these guys would go on and on with all the lame excuses for their "countrymen/women, it's pretty pathetic.
I don't want to offend too many people but I do think the Hispanics culturally don't care for following rules and regulations(hence the chronic chaos and backwardness in their home countries)

The majority of illegal aliens are mexicans and they take it personally. I do not remember hearing any fake outrage when the laws were passed in an attempt to end the Italian mafia's strangle hold on business's and people throughout the nation.

Maybe because most of the stands agaist illegal aliens are very racist and xenophobic, because it's agaist mexicans and Mexico as a nation, no matter where they come or if they are legal or illegal.
