Because I did everything I could to disprove it and failed.

Unity of the books of the Bible (they all fit together like a single work), even though it was written by about 40 men from different backgrounds, over a period of about 1500 years.
Foreknowledge. There are things in the Bible that those who wrote it could not have known at the time it was written.
This includes scientific facts, as well as prophecy.
About Christ alone, there were hundreds of prophecies, many in great detail (place of birth, type of death, things he would do and say, things others would do in relation to him, etc.). ALL of these prophecies came true exactly as predicted HUNDREDS OF YEARS earlier!

Being Orthodox I would say it is the case asthe Church says it is, and I take the Church's word as I am convinced that it was founded by Christ and the Apotles. with out an real extant Church tha an claim apostolic athority and sucession clinging to the full teaching oral and written, then the Bible can not be true.
This is the falw in protestanism as it is the Church that wrote the Bible not the other way around.

We would expect God’s message to all mankind to be available around the globe. The Bible, the whole or in part, has been translated into some 1,800 languages. Its circulation totals in the billions. Says The World Book Encyclopedia: “The Bible is the most widely read book in history. It is probably also the most influential. More copies have been distributed of the Bible than of any other book. It has also been translated more times into more languages than any other book.
2 Tim. 3:16, 17: “All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.”
Rev. 1:1: “A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place.”
Many world leaders acknowledge that mankind is on the brink of disaster. The Bible foretold these conditions long ago; it explains their meaning and what the outcome will be. (2 Tim. 3:1-5; Luke 21:25-31) It tells what we must do in order to survive the impending world destruction, with the opportunity to gain eternal life under righteous conditions here on earth.—Zeph. 2:3; John 17:3; Ps. 37:10, 11, 29.

As a man once said, "Believe in something unseen, and the faith in one's heart will be risen. For the Bible was written in God's hand, and is so powerful, that even then some prefer to have more proof than knowledge...." This is a well known quote by Father Berney, a preist at my church. He is exactly right. Why do you need proof to know something is real? Unless the sitution is toally different, but I'm talking about this situation here. Why does God have to prove Himself to others so they'll "believe", when in reality, its a fools' paridise. The Bible to me is true because I believe in it. I believe and trust God and know in my heart that He wrote every word. He inspired man to write it, but every word came from the Lord. And I believe, no matter what anybody else says.....I BELIEVE!!!!

To many artifacts have been found to prove too much of the Bible ,not to believe. Revelation is being fulfilled at a very quick rate. It was written over 2000 years ago and the things God tells us will happen IS HAPPENING NOW IT CAN'T BE TOO LONG BEFORE JESUS COMES FOR THE CHRISTIANS. This is why I spend so much time on here ,trying to help people realize that time is short. I love all of you and I don't want to think of any of you going to Hell.

The Bible was written by men inspired by GOD.To prove that it is true it is varified by two or three witnesses. This means If you read a story in the bible it usually will be confirmed in another part of the bible by another different writer. So if you read about the birth of christ in Matthew you can read about it again in luke etc.

i always had doubts in the back of my mind. until one day, we learned about it in history. i go to a regular public school. they were not teaching religion. just teaching about a certain time period. so jesus was a historical figure. if i believe that the pilgrims had thanksgiving, then why should i not believe that jesus and the bible is a real thing?

Cause it feels good.
Plus you can quote the Bible and prove it.
What other book can you prove just by quoting it?

when I open the bible angels sit on my shoulders, lambs and lions lay (down) together, and a huge neon light descends from the ceiling and proclaims that Elvis is in the building.
