There is a woman I work with who is extremely friendly with me in the workplace (hugging and going out to lunch). Anyway, she has made is clear that she is single and we are planning to spend the day together tomorrow. Well, we had a company celebration this evening and she shows up with a guy at this celebration and it is obvious from his point of view that he is interested in this girl. I mean, he was wearing the kind of outfit men would wear to pick up chicks at a night club or a date. Now, I'm suppose to spend the day with this girl tomorrow (which I plan to cancel). I'm probably in the friend zone, but could a girl please explain to me what happened? I'm kinda pissed right now.

Thanks!

It sounds as if she's not looking for a partner right now. Just because she showed up with this man, doesn't mean she's with him, it just means that she chose to enjoy his company this evening. And being that you are upset about this shows that you are interested in her with far more depth than just hanging out and enjoying her company. I would honestly say if this is the case, you need not to go any further with this woman for it could be a heartbreak waiting to happen. Or what you could do is continue to have a good time with her, go out on your "date" tomorrow. But don't pressure her, for that is not what she is looking for. Just have a good time with her, build a friendship, and if that turns into something more so be it. If not, you two can remain friends as you search to find what you are looking for. Hope it helps.

I being a woman to answer and probibly can go for a guys advise more. The things is do you know she liked him the way you seen him like her? Even if your pissed about it. Don't you think you can talk to her about why she showed up with some other guy. Wait did you even talk to her at the party for an explenation? If you did not talk to her and just left you have no idea if she realy like the guy. Since you have a date anyways maybe you should call her and let her know how you felt when you saw her bring some other guy to the party. If she don't explain herself don't wait your time. YOu can find a woman who will respect your feelings if you let her know you like her as a bf way.

she's dating, she's not attached to just one man. (Dating does not mean sleeping with.) you haven't even gone out once with her, you have no right to demand or expect that she see only you.

When I am not in an exclusive relationship (aka a sexual relationship), I don't sit around waiting for the phone to ring. I date several men and I don't keep it from anyone.

no, dont cancel. that would be a horrrrrrible decision, do not do that you will regret it i promise, continue your date, but bring it up right in the middle of dinner, that way you will know if she tries to pull any lies because youll see her reaction :) itll work i promise!

She may be hoping you'll make a move by stirring up a sense of competition.
