So I'm going through a tough time right now in adolescence..I've made a few mistakes, and my most recent may cost me my boyfriend who is also my best friend because we got in trouble for something and his dad is upset. Lately I've been falling from my faith but now I feel I need it more than ever and I want God to forgive me for my sins and to help my boyfriend and I make it through everything we're going through right now..does anyone know of any positive, encouraging songs that may help?

Try to dowloand "Melody of You" by Sixpence None The Richer. It's a pretty good song about faith. It's not screaming "christian song."

She is a great contact of mine also but I didn't know that. Just lost a dear friend in May and now have a sister in law Dr said has less than 6 months to live. I'm dedicating one of her favorite songs to 'Texas Heaven'. "I Hope You Dance" by LeeAnn Womak

I'm not sure this would be considered a Christian based song, but it works for me. It's from "Carousel", which is a musical from the 50's. It's called "You'll Never Walk Alone". And dont be afraid of God not forgiving you. As one song says, "My God is an awesome God". He will always forgive you. And-by the way-I know you'll make it through these times.

It may sound dumb, but you'll find the best doctrine in songs in a hymn book. "Anchored in Jesus" is a really good one. Also, "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God," "Victory in Jesus," etc. You could just read the words, without singing it. However, for encouragement and help in time of need, the Bible is the best. It alone is the Word of God. Read at least a little of it every day and apply what you read.

Some lyrics, though I can't remember the title:
Before the throne of God above/I have a strong and perfect plea/A great High Priest whose name is Love/Who ever lives and pleads for me/My name is graven on His hands/My name is written in His heart/I know that while in heaven He stands/No tongue can bid me thence depart/No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair/And tells me of the guilt within/Upward I look and see Him there/Who made an end to all my sin/Because the sinless Savior died/My sinful soul is counted free/For God the just is satisfied/To look on Him and pardon me/To look on Him and pardon me.

God is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness if we confess and repent (I John, I believe it's 1:8, though I'm not positive). Cheer up! "For we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purposes" (Romans 8:28). God bless!

Hi dear sister. I am so sorry you are going through struggle right now. May I just say that you can rest in Christ because HIS blood is more than enough to cover any sins you have committed or will commit. He has said, "Behold, I make all things new."

I am posting a link to the most encouraging Christian song I know. It has made me weep more than a time or two and not from sorrow --- from gratefulness and joy.

The lyrics are actually printed in the video, but here they are for you to read so that you'll hopefully listen to the song. It is *so* deeply encouraging:

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt of life, no fear of death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
‘til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand

God bless dear sister. Please let me know if I can be of further help.

Asking for forgiveness is the first step, repentence always helps clear the mind and soul, humbleness and some quite time with God reading His word helps too, for music I like I know my Redeemer Lives and I am drinking from my saucer because my cup has runneth over.

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Hello, Kay,

You are on the right path, now, which is wonderful. You are seeking God and His forgiveness. That is the most important thing.

I, too, love music and it ministers to my soul. The first song that came to mind is:

Untitled Hymn (Come To Jesus) by Chris Rice -

Weak and wounded sinner
Lost and left to die
O, raise your head, for love is passing by
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus and live!

Now your burden's lifted
And carried far away
And precious blood has washed away the stain, so
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus and live!

And like a newborn baby
Don't be afraid to crawl
And remember when you walk
Sometimes we fall...so
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus and live!

Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain, then
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus and live!

O, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can't contain your joy inside, then
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live!

And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory's side, and
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live!

It is such a simple song, but it truly ministers to me when I am down.

Another good one to praise Him (which always lifts me up) is:

Shout To The Lord - from the album "Make Some Waves"

My Jesus, my Savior, Lord there is none like You
All of my days I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love
My comfort, my shelter, tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am never cease to worship You

Shout to the Lord, all the Earth, let us sing!
Power and majesty, praise to the King
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands
Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You

My Jesus, my Savior, Lord there is none like You
All of my days I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love
My comfort, my shelter, tower of refuge and strength
Let every breath, all that I am never cease to worship You

Shout to the Lord, all the Earth, let us sing!
Power and majesty, praise to the King
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands
Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You

Oh, nothing compares to the promise I have in You.
Lord there is none like You

You hang in there, Kay. The Lord has you in His hands. Lift all your burdens up to Him and rest in His great and merciful love.

Take care and God bless you!

I LOVE Toby Mac. He has a lot of great songs, but Made to Love is one of my favorites.
