Sears had this tv for sale on Sunday for $699. We were so excited about the price and worried they would run out before getting to the store, we bought online with store pick-up option. However, we have not been happy with the picture at all. There seems to be shadows on faces? Is it the tv or did we get a lemon?

Set has ghosting even with various hookups. Tried component, HDMI cable. Even ghosting when on HD broadcast. Ghosting occurs even with DVD upconvert.

I own the tv. Got it last week. The settings on mine only look good when in day mode. Night mode changes the contrast setting from 100 to 50.

For the best picture on mine, I went into the settings and reset the factory default. Then I went into day viewing(non-dynamic) see if this makes the picture better!

nothing wrong with the unit. You need hd service from you cable company or satellite provider. Be prepared to pay out much more than your paying now for it.

there is no law that anything has to be replaced or refunded ( where do people get these ideas ) it is up to store policy. Most places anymore if you obtain a defective item and its past the store policy ( usually 3-20 days ) for return you are responsible for packing and shipping it to a central depot for a refurbished exchange during the warranty period. After its out of warranty it goes in the landfill.

not neccessarily the set-have a look at your inputs. some flat panel sets do not display analogue material well and this can result in shadowing (ghosting). try using the high definition or the component inputs and see if the image improves (it should) if you have ghosting here and you have double checked all the connections then the TV is suspect and the supplier has to replace it by consumer law (even if the set was in a sale).
