Get up and walk around. Walk five minutes every hour. Not only will this break the boredom for a little bit, it will prevent blood clots from forming in your legs from 14 hours of sitting.

Take your ipod and burn music, books on tape etc onto that.
Read. Do puzzles/crossword/wordsearch. Reasearch your destination on the net. Buy a Guidebook and rip out the important stuff and start plotting and planning your proposed activities at destination. Keep yourself occupied the best you can.
Will you be travelling alone as an Unaccompanied Minor?
If you are, don't give the Flight Attendants a hard time. We don't tolerate that too well. And 18 hours is a long time to spend with a grouchy one!

you can : listen to an mp3 (which apparently can help you sleep), there are usually personal T.Vs infront of you so you can watch movies(check your airline website and they will tell you what sort of entertainment they have and if they do have a personal t.v, they will have a movie list and you can also watch cartoons and play games whenever you feel like it and you can chat to the person next to you.
To avoid jetlag, try to adjust to Australia's routine. E.g. Eat dinner when they do, sleep when they do. And get up every few hours and walk round the plane to avoid blood clots in your muscles. To make the flight a little more comftable, don't wear any tight clothings because believe me if your wearing skinny jeans on a 18 hr flight, you'll feel like s.h.i.t...!
Good Luck!

Sleep , talk to the people sitting next to you get up and walk to the restroom. I am sure they will show a movie on a flight that long and let you listen to music. You should also get a meal or two to eat on a flight that long. I personally like to look out the window at the landscape if I can see it and meditate and pray.

Drink a lot of water at extensive-unfold durations. you will locate that maximum airlines have in-flight entertainment yet take an iPod or MP3 participant to hearken to a pair of your favourite relaxing song. Take a solid e book as this does kill the time. confirm you arise and walk around generally to dodge Deep Vein Thrombosis. bypass to the bathroom and wash your face. think of approximately some workouts you're able to do mutually as sitting down. Have a spectacular flight.

you're going to do a lot of sleeping. then you might wake up and eat a meal, watch some of the in-flight movie, look out onto the ocean, go to the bathroom, play with your laptop while the batteries last, read some magazines and your books (but you'll probably get bored with those), then you might sleep some more. hopefully by that time another meal will arrive.
