Okay, there is one person on here who answers almost every question with "Most atheists are homosexual" or something else that implies that. I for one don't really think it is true. I disagree with that kind of generalization. So, as a Christian who wants to see everyone treated fairly, I thought I'd give the atheists a chance to speak for themselves. So what do you all think?

Okay people! I agree with you on this one. Its nonsense! I was actually posting the question for the benefit of Francine, or Frank, whichever!
And I've never stood around with a sign saying that God hates homosexuals either.

i believe blessed u have more common sence then to believe everything you hear .. its a shame christians dont look deeper into their bible and explore and research what they hold is true,,
homosexuality may be a reason many are athiests they feel they have no other choice . i know of many that come out of this lifestylewhen they havent lost hope that god has not condemned them to helfire and damnation ..
this is such a horrible lie theoligians made up that was a pagan belief centuries before reigionists adopted it as true,
christians today focous more on GOD as a tyrant that hate s everyone that doesnt accept his love that many folks get the wrong impression of who HE really is and what his character is really like.
no i wont go into detail here either..
just to say our GODis a consuming fire and that any sin ANY sin that is not confessed and turned from will be destroyed whenit comes into the presence of A HOLY GOD
/ some well meaning but ignorant christians cause more harm then good by their telling everyone they meet GOD will burn them up or worse yet scorch them for all eternity unmercifully .
THEY SELDOM TALK ABOUT THE LOVE and mercy OF GOD and that he wants all of us to learn about him . u never fall in love with someone u fear,
the only way you draw someone to you is by love not fear and everyone knows if a child is scared or afraid of yo that this is no way to gain their confidence and respect and love .. . GOD WILL JUDGE US ALL ,, SO MAKE SURE WHAT YOU SAY WITH YOUR LIPS IS FULL TRUTH AND SPEAK IN LOVE NOT JUDGEMENT.. speak the truth seasoned with grace , judgement will occour yes and the wicked those that choose wilfuly to continue to rebel against GODSauthority will be punished but its their choice ,, and u too will have to be sure u yourself are in the truth before the second coming of christ.. many believe in a special rapture oh this will save me from any trials to come wrong!! TODAY is the day of salvation their is no second chances to get it right . read all u can find about christs second coming all u can about love and grace and then line it up and read it alll together . feaRFUL ONES .UNBELIEVERS ALL ! u cant come to God because u fear judgement .. fear will wear off but only love will make u want to serve someone throughout eternity or even in this lifetime its a choice u make daily.. think about it .. bro. murray

I am a Christan, and there are several thing wrong with your question. 1) If atheists want to have their opinions(ration, not hateful) heard, why not hear them out? I enjoy understanding other people beliefs regardless if they match my own. 2) Homosexuals? Christians are supposed to be a loving people who embrace those who are not "good" with the lord. If there are tons of gay people in this section then why not put questions out specifically for them. Loving questions, that ask them to think inward. God is love, if you are a christian then you should be an example of a person who loves all and does not condemn the gay, the unbeliever or the hypocrite. I just hope you are not a "fags burn in hell" kind of person, violence only begets violence just as hate begets hate.

Hey, be polite guys!
Thank you for asking that politely and giving people a chance to speak up without judgment.
You'll find Francine is what is called a troll here - someone who answers any atheist or Christian question with that drivel/garbage. She's only trying to cause trouble.

I think you already know the answer to that one.
Probably there is a somewhat higher percentage of open LGBTs in the atheist community than in many faith ones, because many faith communities ostracise LGBTs. However, they would still be very much a minority within the group.
By the way, I'm bi, and most LGBT people I know have some form of religion.

No, dear. Religion has nothing to do with sexual orientation, beyond the sad reality that some religions condemn homosexuality.
It is only speculation on my part, but it wouldn't surprise me to learn that many homosexuals are drawn toward Atheism because of the cruel way they are treated by their religions, and by extension, their god.

Well Blessed, isn't that very Christian of you....so now I am homosexual. Hmmm is that supposed to be an insult? I am not insulted, I do not find homosexuality immoral. However, I have been married for 15 years so my hubby will be kind of sad. Oh no, that means he is too! I guess we will have to try to stay married for the dogs sake.

Francine is obsessed with gays and atheists, which leads me to believe s/he is gay herself.
Anyway, I wouldn't put much stock in what she says.
If someone on this board was obsesses with the idea that "most Zoroastrians are bi-sexual" would you be asking Zoroastrians if that were true, or would you be writing that person off as an unreliable poster ?

Ah "Frank"....He/She has.... issues.
No, it's not true.
I think atheist might average more... alternative lifestyles.. mostly because people tend to leave the church rather than pretend to be like everyone else. But no, not a majority.

I imagine most homosexuals are atheist, since western religions seem so full of homophobia. But most of the people I know are atheist, and only 4 of them are gay
