christian, cause w/o god we wouldn't even be here right now, he is the alpha and omega and people need to understand that and not let schools punish teachers for teaching it, he is everything the one and only

I'm an atheist.
The amount of death that has been because of religion is actually disgusting. I think its good for people to have faith because the one link between all religions is that they give some sort of reassurance about what happens after death, and that is everyone's greatest fear. Who wants to die thinking that that's the end of it and that all that they learnt and understood and experienced in life is nothing because they're just going to die and all of that finishes with them. Imagine how pessimistic the world would be, if people were told that when you die you die and that's all. In order to conduct yourself and to stabilise societies you need that reassurance that its all building up to something so people will treat each other with morals and have empathy and ethical outlooks.
I don't know what happens after death because I'm not religious, I don't believe in reincarnation and I definitely don't think that there is a heaven and a hell but I also think that, from a pragmatic point of view, if having faith and being religious makes you a better person then there's nothing wrong with believing in something. If it does that opposite than similarly I think that it needs to be reevaluated. All in all, religion is there to make sure that people have the comfort that they are safe and are living to something, I think that everyday should be lived to its full potential... just in case.

I'm an Atheistic Pantheist
Because I believe there is no God because there is NO evidence for God, however I believe in the beauty of the Universe and the Laws of Science as absolutes and the core to our existence. Science gives more answers about who we are and our purpose then any religion could make up. I'm conversant in Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism, and I've found that while those religions are insightful, they are not divine nor do they provide absolute truths like science gives us.

I was reared in the Methodist church-- married and joined the Baptists church because my husband was Baptists. I live in the deep South where most of the people are Baptists or Methodist is probably why I am Baptist--I think it has to do with the way you were reared --what faith you believe- My grand father built the church I went to until I married-- I believe what my ancestors believed. I believe that when you change to a drastically different way of life than you were reared -religion-- that you become confused about all of it and then may fall away from believing anything. The Bible speaks of different winds of doctrine-- God Bless you!

Christianity has a rich history which started with the jews at the beginning of time. The bible is filled with historical facts that Archaeologists use and has been proven very reliable. We have over 5000 documented ancient findings of scripture, many in different languages, all the same. WE have the dead sea scrolls to prove this also. The Vatican just bought 2 gospels dating 90 ad, the same as we have today. There is prophesies that has come to pass from the bible that proves it's reliability. Over 300 just for the man Jesus.
We have non christian evidence of Jesus from Tacitus and Josephus both historians. And a Governor named Pliny the Younger who all wrote about "Christos" and his followers the Christan's.
Archaeologists have found the tomb of Caiaphas who was the Pharisee that brought Jesus to trial.
Jesus WAS a real person who was an historical figure. Even well read Atheists KNOW this.
We have eye witnesses who had every thing to loose by claiming to be a follower of Jesus. Why? When Jesus was killed they scattered. Afraid. BUT when they saw he was resurrected they became bold. Why?
Since the bible is reliable, and Jesus WAS here you must decide.
Was he a nut? A liar, Or who he claimed to be.

I'm a Mormon (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) because I was raised that way, but as I grew older I studied the doctrine for myself and prayed about it and felt strongly that it was true.
I think that if you DO believe in a higher power, and I imagine that most religious people would agree with me, then you choose your religion based on how the doctrines make you feel, especially about your relationship with deity (God, Jesus Christ, or whatever power you believe in). I believe strongly that we all are born with a light (or conscience) inside of us that lets us know when something is "right" for us. If we pay attention to it, it can help us find spiritual truth, wherever it may be.

Agnostic,
The varibles for life are to vast to eventually line up as a random set that produce life... however, I don't think that god would care if I were to eat pork, have protected sex, get tatooed up, or cuss...
Religion is all about "kindness and good will for the fellow man" not what not to do...
Plus, I have taken world history and I have learned about all the religions, when they started, and by whom... its like a time line... so I don't believe them anymore... religion was created by man... not god... and thats why I'm Agnostic...

Unificationist.
Solid Judeo-Christian roots, an Asian flavor, and theological principles which jive with modern science. It's not only intellectual; there's a connection with God's heart, and the joys and sorrows that a fallen yet hopeful humanity experiences along with God. In a practical sense, there's a good faith community and bold initiatives.

My religious beliefs are close to those of Seventh Day Adventists. The reason I attend this church is because I have gone on a quest searching for Biblical truth and it has led me to this church. I have attended Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, Lutheran, Catholic, Bible Churches, Jehovah's Witness, and many others. I had never been satisfied with the doctrine until I found SDA. Our beliefs are very similar to Messianic Jews.
I believe the Bible is truth because I have studied Bible prophesy and have seen how it has been fulfilled for myself. The accuracy is amazing.

I think I'm Agnostic. Buddha. He was a real groovy dude, but I'm definitely not a baptist, mostly because I talk back to people, and we usually end up screaming at each other. I like to have a deep spiritual connection with the nature though. I don't know it's it's a religion, but meditating sure makes me feel good.
As far as believing in a higher power, I don't. i believe John Lennon. Religion is a door to hate, and I think I would be against the rules anyway. Bisexuality, other things.
I'm supposed to be Orthodox, because I'm Ukrainian. I was for a while, but I lost all faith and I do pretty un-orthodox things.
Peace!
