Spanish, it is much more useful. Make French your 3rd language.

I wish my school had German too. :/ I would do French. And this has always been my reason: If I learned Spanish, I still wouldn't be as fluent as all the other Spanish people around here (there's a lot) and I would feel dumb. Yeah, Spanish is the easiest. But I'd learn French because of the reason above, and I love Europe. Of the times I've been there, it's been so fun! If I learned French I could travel to France and utter out phrases, haha. Honestly, just take whatever you want. If you want a challenge, French. If you want something easier, Spanish. ... They don't have Latin at my school, so I dunno. Lol.

In the end, it's your own decision. There are more Spanish speakers than French speakers. Spanish, therefore, is a smart choice simply because it is useful. Plus, the more you get to use a language in the real world, the better you will learn it. Spanish is also quite easy; I think it is easier than English (my native language!) and French, though many will disagree with me. Still, if you do choose Spanish and need help, just come back to Answers and I will be happy to help you.

I am biased because I know far more Spanish than French, but in my opinion Spanish is a beautiful language, and each accent has its own charm. The same can be said about French, of course.

Definitely, definitely: SPANISH! I studied French in high school; I lived in France for a year in college. Was quite enjoyable. But even so, I wish I had studied Spanish. It's far more versatile! There is a huge Spanish speaking population in the US today, so learning Spanish has a great deal of practical value for employment, socializing with people, reading, watching TV, etc. And also, Spanish is easier than French.

I took French for 4 years in highschool and 3 years later... I can't remember a thing. If you don't use a language, you will lose it. In college, I took a few Spanish classes because it is the more useful of the langauges. I loved studying French, but I would recommend Spanish.

Do you want to learn the language for fun or for practical purposes? French is not used a lot in the USA, but Spanish is. In most work fields, being bi-lingual is a huge plus. I'd go with Spanish.

Those that mentioned Spanish being more useful in the U.S. are correct. However, both languages are so beautiful. You can't go wrong either way. :) I would recommend learning whichever you personally have more interest in. I am mostly fluent in Spanish, but now want to learn French for travel purposes.

For fun's sake, french, for usefulness's sake, spanish. I'm actually learning Spanish right now. I love it, but I know everybody doesn't. My mom loves French, doesn't really like Spanish. I love Spanish, don't really like French. It's okay. I might have to get more into it, but I prefer Spanish.
