No, I think that who you are shapes your beliefs, so basically who you are depends upon how you belive.
The belief of God plays a role in my life, yes. Although perhaps as large as a role as some people, but if anyone was actually able to prove to me personally that there is no God, no Great Creator, than I would be hard pressed as to how I would react. It would ripple throughout my life and how I feel and do things everyday.
I'm not really sure that it change who, I am. I would not allow it to change how I treat people everyday, how I act as a whole, nor how I raise my children. I will still teach them morals and values, but as to why God is so important to me, that is a hard one.
I feel the need to believe that there is something greater out there than us. Something or someone out there that has no need to explain themselves or their actions to us, but to be honest even if somebody was to come to me with "proof," which I don't know HOW they would obtain, I'm not sure I would stop beliveing. The God that I worship, and believe in dosen't completely come from the Bible. The God, that I trust in was not taught to me from a pulpit.
The God that I believe in has developed from my personal experinces in life and from what I have learned on my own as an individual. Perhaps that is why He is such a large part in my personal life.

God is so very important to me because I know He lives. I'm who I am because of my faith , to a point. Except for a couple of years, that I was into a lot and away from God, I've had too many experiences to ever doubt there is a God. Even then HE saved me from some terrible things. I had praying parents and God honored their prayers for me---THANK GOD When i wasn't into the bad things ,I wasn't too much different in my thinking. I still loved people and loved to help. Of course back then i would lie to protect someone or keep someone from being hurt. I don't do that anymore. I did drink and I don't do that any more. And yes I did party some, but I don't do that any more. I guess I was some different then. But, God is the most important person in my life. I love Him so much. Who else would die for ME?

I'm Christian, but really if someone undoubtedly proved that there was no God...I'd still live on, it's not important how we got here, but just enjoy the fact that you are here instead of just fighting over how we came into existence. If God wanted us to know how we got here he would have told us, we can find out the truth when we die. Your beliefs don't define who you are, it's what you actually do that defines you. If someone asked you who you are and you weren't aloud to use any outside sources to define you (meaning you can't use your beliefs, sports, likes/dislikes to define you) could you? It's simple really, my response would be "I'm a Human, I'm flawed and I make mistakes, but I try to good."
I believe in God without a single doubt, but I don't let that belief define me. The belief is my own, therefore I define the belief, not the other way around.

I would say so.
There is an assurance that real Christians have about what happens after we die. We know that we are absolutely going to end up in heaven and in glorious splendor with Christ when we die.
The reason for this is numerous. First as we obey the bible, everything that the bible promises has always come to pass. Gifts are also given by God to us to show that He is not only real but he cares and loves us as His adopted children. Statistically impossible events (miracles) happen for Christians on a regular basis.
The other proof that we are going to heaven is our born again experiences. When a man is born again, he turns from desiring sinful lusts of the flesh to desiring the Holy things of God. This change is proof that what the bible says is true. Also the fact that when we search the bible, the Holy Spirit opens up deep things of God to us that display His glory.
He has also delivered us from sin, which is another proof of His existence, power, and kindness. I know many drug addicts, potheads, drunkards, and even thieves who have been totally changed by God and now they are church leaders and pastors living pure and Holy lives.
There is no greater joy in life than simple obedience to the Bible, and the first joy is that of being born again. Then as we obey and trust in Christ, He changes us more and more on the inside.
Only the fool says in his heart there is no God. Everything points to God, and everything points to Jesus Christ. Just look, seek, and knock, and you will find.
When you find truth, you'll know it... and you won't have to keep seeking...

I have no more control over the the next breath any more than I have control over the last breath I take apart from the grace of God. I know that God is sovereign and I am not. God is self sufficient and in need of nothing. I am totally dependent on Him.

No... I think you are who you are today because of lessons you learned, its that why we have parents?? Beside I would rather live my enitre life right to find there was no god then to live in hatred and sin and find out their was. I am not a HUGE religious person, however I know in my soul there is a God and that I am here to complete a plan and that is a "vision" I have created by someone saying the word God or Jesus and me wanting to know more, so guess what I asked!!!
I'm sorry but space and astroids did NOT create me nor YOU! Think about it!

i am agnostic. name god what you want. call your beliefs what you want. the important thing here is that we all see the importants in the morals that most(i said most) religeons uphold.
who cares what you worship or even if your beliefs are based in fact, as long as the outcome is that you live true and right?
and to answer your question ... nothing anyone proves can change my life or my beliefs
"a righteous man lives by his own faith"

Nobody could prove that to me. My life has been filled with God's blessings time and time again. He has answered prayers, he has sent blessings in times of need, he has shown me the way when I was lost, and he has moved mountains when they were too big for me to climb.
God is my life. He created me and he sustains me. There is no life without God. Its not about being "wrapped up" he is within me.

The basic concept of being a kind, loving and forgiving person is unassailable. In the unlikely event of someone convincing me there is no God I would be disappointed but I will continue to strive to be the best person I can be.

I think people come to the Lord when they've reached the end of the rope and need some to lean on, then after time they grow out of it and see they are really god and can handle things on their own. Parents teach us most things and that's why we think the way we do.
