In the Spiritual world the devil today is wreeking havoc just like he was back then, the prince of persia was a demon angel so strong only a few of Gods angels could defeat him. Its obvious that Angels have a ranking order of some kind. There is no doubt in my mind that the in Washington DC today and all across the countries of the world there are spiritual battles being fought. I like what Daniel was told at the end though, that he would stand in His lot at the end of the day. May we be able to do the same thing!!

It would seem so. In Daniel 10:20, a prince of Greece is mentioned. Micheal and Gabriel are faithful angels, they only do God's will.
Satan is the ruler of the world. Remember he offered Jesus power over the kingdoms of the world? Probably some bad angels accepted such offers over smaller areas, like individual countries.
There certainly is demonic influence involved in the wars between countries- I mean, every normal human being wants to live in peace. Why all the senseless wars then?

Micheal and Gabriel are the only 2 angels named in the Bible...... that I have found...... They are Arch Angels, Gods' head angels.....satan is the god of this world, the Bible makes that VERY plain..... satan is in charge of the good, bad, ugly, beautiful, etc..... ONLY our prayers hold him in check at this time..... that is what Michael and Gabriel were doing, they were holding satan back from *true* evil....... there have been many times satan has tried to come before his time... such as Hitler and Stalin...... but, they were not allowed to go the distance...... it has been this way through out history, even before Christ....... go in peace...... God bless

I believe the Prince of Persia is symbolically Satan (Lucifer).
Though it is supposed to be indicitive of the 'prince' (or angel) over 'persia' (lol *duh!*) as well as an actual person i believe. *fuzzy*
The Bible does not specifically state that there is an angel or 'prince' for each nation or country; though that theory has been and could be applicable since Michael, scripturally is associatated as the angel or 'chief prince' of the nation of Israel. The bible states that there are myraids and legions of angels. Scritrually it woud indicate 12 archangels with the empahsis on only THREE as per in connection to the Godhead. Only THREE are mentioned by name in scripture:
Michael, Gabriel and Lucifer. (or satan, adversary/accuser).
"1. Lucifer means 'day star', or 'light bearer', or 'son of the morning' (Isaiah 14:12-14; Ezekiel 28:11-17; Ephesians 2:2).
Lucifer is seen as the archangel who was associated with the throne of God, as the leader of the worship of God among the angelic hosts. Through pride and rebellion he fell from this place....."
"2. Michael is specifically called an archangel. His name means "Who is like God" or "God like". There are four special accounts of his Activities (Daniel 10:21; 12:1-4; Jude 9; Revelation 12:7-9.) Michael is the chief prince of the Nation of Israel in the Old Testament. His activities are always seen in connection with warfare with Satan and with the resurrection of the body. Many expositors believe he is the archangel that comes WITH the Lord Jesus in His Second advent relative to the resurrection of the saints and the change over from mortality to immortality of the living saints (1 Thessalonians 4:16).
"3.Gabriel is generally accepted as an archangel. His name means, "Strength of God." There are special occasions where Gabriel is mentioned and it seems that Gabriel is a prophetic angel, the messenger and interpreter of the prophetic Word concerning the Christ of God. He appeared to Daniel twice and then to Zacharias, John the Baptist's father, and then to Mary, the virgin mother of Jesus. Each one of these revelations involve Messianic revelation (Daniel 8:16-19; 9:1-27; 10:8-11; Luke 1:19,26). Gabriel stands in the presence of God and is seen in association with Michael, never with Lucifer.
Some writers have suggested that these three archangels each had 1/3 of the angels under them, and that when Lucifer fell he took his thrid with him. The other 2/3 remained faithful to God and His Word, under their archangels Michael and Gabriel. It has also been suggested that these three archangels were the archangels of the Godhead, that is representing the Godhead." i.e, <[not BEING the Godhead, but "representing" by definition of the word, in the sense in direct duty and service to; 'Angels are ministering spirits, servants of the Most High God.' (Hebrews 1:13-14; Psalm 103:21) ]>
"Lucifer was the archangel of the Father, Michael the archangel of the Son, and Gabriel the archangel of the Holy Spirit. Their distinctive associatons and ministries certainly lend weight to this option." (The Foundations of Christian Doctrine, Chapter 6, The Doctrine of Angels, pp87-88).
Daniel 10:1-21 is where the refernce to the 'prince of persia' is found; Micahel, 'your prince' vs21 is Michael the Archangel. (i.e, the Archangel, the 'chief prince of the nation of Israel; who wars with satan;) it is said to be Gabriel, who delivers the 'message' to Daniel (10:8-11); as would be befitting of scripture as Gabriel is always seen 'in association with Micheal, never with Lucifer'.)
"Micheal: one of the Archangels, whose name is a rhetorical question meaning, "Who is like God?" (or 'Who is like El?") In apocalyptic literature he is Israel's patron angel (Dan 12:1) who fights for Israel against the angels of other nations (Dan 10:13, 21) As such later tradition identifies him as the nameless divine messenger called "the prince of the army of Yahweh" in Joshua 5:13-15 (c.f Exod 23:23). Michael also becomes the surrogate of a now transcendant storm god, leading the heavenly armies in the fight against the forces of chaos, and thus is the adversary of Satan (Rev. 12:7; Jude 9) ..." pp518, The Oxford Companion to the Bible. (you can look this up online).
Angels are called PRINCIPALITIES, and POWERS
(Ephesians 3:10; Colossians 1:16); so it is quite possible that there would be angels over other countries. Though some tendency towards the mythological is present, such as in the nature of the beliefs of The Romans and Greeks as to multiple gods; the belief system of 'principalities and powers' in addition to the 'angel of the Lord' and the scriptural reference to Michael as the 'chief prince of the nation of Israel' would lead to the logical assumption that God has placed one for every nation. (thus the confusion/assumption as to angels and gods); Though, as per names, they are not given. Scriptural references only indicate THREE.
