I'm looking for an anatomy book for medical study (med school) not art, just in case.

There's 3 resources that I recommend:

1. Netter - anatomy book. The drawings keep things simplified.
2. a) Rohen b) McMinn. These two books are photographs of cadavers. Both are not perfect and missing some details, but they fill in each others missing details.
3. Acland's 6 part anatomy DVD set. Also a must have. Amazing detail.

I'm a big fan of Netter's (both the basic text and some of the specialty ones--Netter's Clinical Anatomy is great when you get into second year and are studying pathology).

Rohan and Yokochi is awesome for gross anatomy study (this is the one with photographs of actual dissections). Saved me on more than one practical exam. *g*

Gray's Anatomy has been a standard for a long time and is always updated. Lots of detail and lots of illustrations.
