Also, what is your religion?

I'm Pagan, and I watched it, I admit, to see what all the fuss was about. It all seemed like too much of a muchness to me--the plot, the sets, etc. were a confusing jumble. Basically I just sat back and watched it as a fine example of the cinematographer's and special effects creator's art. But I could see where some Christians, especially Catholics, might be offended.

How about you?

I found it offensive as a Christian, but then again, so was Hitchhikers Guide (though I still bought it because it was just fun!).

Come to think of it, where was the outrage at that movie! Douglas Adams was known for this atheistic views.

Back on topic - Golden Compass was a whole lot of hype for and not that good of movie.

Just because the guy that wrote the trilogy is an atheist doesn't mean that the movie will portray that exactly. At the end of the trilogy, it says that the kids kill god (in a sense) and end of doing what they want. Unless they make the other 2 movies, it will be hard to see why this one is supposed to be anti-Narnia and atheistic.

Haven't seen the movie, but the movie is great. About offended Christians, well if you will take every thing seriously nothing good will happen. How many times Jews, Muslims, Christians were offended even in this website, and what? People who want, they live in peace, joy, love and freedom, those who don't, always seek for war, fear, terrorism, racism.

I just got back. I don't see how anyone could be offended by this movie. It wasn't a confusing jumble at all. It's a story that comes together. I enjoyed it.

I'm Muslim. I watched the first 5 minutes of it on Yahoo Movies and I don't see how this movie is promoting Atheism. It looks rather interesting to me and looks like a great movie.

It was a fun action romp. It was anti-catholic, but not fanatical about it.
