i just started going out with one of my really good friends after a long time of discussing whether we should or not. we haven't been going out for long, but he's not being the boyfriend i always wanted. i know he likes me, but i just dont feel appreciated at all. i kind of feel like i'm expecting too much from him though, and that maybe this is just who he is. what should i do?..or say?

This happens when moving from friendship to relationship , don't listen to the first answer ! Give it some time , you have known him for a while and you obviously like many things about him or you wouldn't have taken this step . He may be having troubles as well so why don't you just sit down quietly somewhere and discuss it with him from your heart and I think you will find out what his needs are as well as he will find out yours. Then you can either decide mutually to stop dating and still be friends ( I hope ) or you will both be able to more comfortably be with each other.

Good Luck

It just doesn't sound like there's any chemistry there. Unfortunately, just because you get on well as best friends doesn't mean you'll work as BF-GF... I know you don't want to hear that. Sometimes it's possible to convert a friendship into a relationship, sometimes not.

If there's really a spark, he would be holding you all the time and giving you lots of attention... it would be real 2-way electricity.

Give it time girl! He's probably just getting use to the transition and isn't sure how to act around you just yet!

Time to get out of that relationship. You're obviously not happy. Don't try to needle him into being something that he can't be. You tried. It didn't work. Time to move on.
