Im going into the reserves in a couple months, Iam a contact lens wearing, is this allowed during basic training, or do I have to wear those "standard issue" combat goggles. And oh yeah...will I learn "any" CQC.....thnx

Nope, during basic you have to wear your BCG's! Dead Sexy! FYI: They are almost impossible to break.

Looks like birth control glasses will be the order of business during basic training - the reason being is you will not have time to deal with contacts or any eye related problems that they cause. Plus they could cause a problem if you are required to go through the gas chamber as part of your training. Glasses are simply more sanitary.

Which Reserves?
Army/Marines in Infantry. Yes.
Machinists mate in the Navy or Services in the AF, No.
Back when I went through Basic it was all BCG's baby! This has more to do with Insurance purposes than anything else.
