facial acne medicine (what worked the best for you)?

hi. i'm 15 years old and i've been struggling with acne for about 3-4 years. i'm using "johnson&johnson clean and clear" medicine for my acne. It KiNdA works, but i want to be able to use a medicine that will get rid of my acne almost permedently. My skin get really dry easily if i'm not using the right medicine and really oily easily too. Do you have any acne solutions that YOU use AND that REALLY work? please help me. I miss my childhood flawless skin. : (

my son has been using pine tar soap for a over two months now. it has really helped clear it up. he had it really bad. huge sores on his face, back and some on his arms and chest. you can get it thru your pharmacy. it costs about $4 a bar and a bar can last 3-4 wks. His skin is 100 percent clearer now

I had awful acne for years. When my daughter also developed it we tried the usual antibiotics which worked for a short time, then it would return. She went on Accutane for almost a year on a LOW dose, we carefully followed all the instructions and apart from some nose bleeds there were no side effects. The acne went away and has never returned(several years). I wish it had been around when I was young.Cost of the pills was under $100 per month - this is in Canada. Monthly visit to doc(which is free here but can't cost that much even in USA) and blood test. I did not know it was available 20 years ago but am surprised that your mother is not more sympathetic. Why don't you just ask at a pharmacy how much they are? There are different strengths.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

I know just how you feel! I had very bad cystic type acne since I was 13 and I'm now well into my 30's.

I have tried everything including Proactive, every available medication, oral and topical antibiotic, retin-a, differin, finacea,homeopathic products, etc. You name it.. I've used it. Lastly, as my derm taught me, there is never a reason to get within 3 feet of a mirror! If you are closer than 3 feet you are only going to find more minor flaws at which to pick. Keep your distance from the mirror. If you can't see it at 3', no one else can either.

I have researched a lot on this subject. The best I have come up with is a home remedy from Care2.com. I will send you a link there are a couple great recipes that I have tried that work really well.

nothing worked for me till i went and got saint ives apricot exfoliating body cream. not the body wash cause they have it too, and it says apricot exfoliting too. its in a short fat round cream colored jar, its not see through, you can get it at wamart in the skin care section not the bodywash section.it makes everything on your face smoothand no pimples.
i hope i helped, it pulls all the dry skin off get a mild skin moisturisure for when your done like cleniques step 3 moisturiser. cause your face sound like mine.
