Like the airline cannot hold you prisoner on the plane once the toilets are full, or they have to let you off the plane to walk around if the air conditioning fails, or basic stuff like that. Or do most people think all air travel would come to a screeching halt if we had to be treated like humans instead of cattle?

I would definitely support a passengers bill of rights, for some reason though it doesn't seem to be getting off the ground.

yeah the incidents of last winter made good headlines for a few days.... call it bad judgement, lack of airport gates or boarding ladders to allow people to get off of delayed flights...
antiquated FAA systems that cause a lot of delays even in good weather.. etc etc...

whatever the reason (or excuses), the bottom line is this: if you ask governement to regulate airlines, several things happen -

1. the price of tickets goes up, to pay for the new regulations.

2. government, being as inefficient as it is, that it cant even plan ahead for something like Hurricane Katrina, will actually make things worse by causing more delays.

3. people will forget about this issue as soon as the news media find out that Britney Spears hit a papparazzi with her SUV, or some other silly crap......
