Im looking for a non-profit community service job to get 20 hours by around Late january. Im looking for something that don't need much "people/social" skills. I was thinking working at a library, but anyone else have any other ideas?

In concept this feels like a solid concept and 9 hours a week at minimum salary could be near to the jobseekers allowance. although i ask your self: a) the type you are going to be certain consistency and fairness around the country and the two million plus unemployed b) what the extra fee of administering and policing the gadget could be c) what costs could be paid to cover shuttle and subsistance d) if there extremely is eighteen million plus manhours of voluntary and community provider artwork a week to be performed. possibly that's the government's "outsourcing" plan for 4 hundred,000 or so public sector (not for earnings) jobs which would be lost over the subsequent 300 and sixty 5 days.

VolunteerMatch (http://www.volunteermatch.org), Idealist (http://www.idealist.org) and CraigsList (http://www.craigslist.com) all list volunteering opportunities with thousands of organizations. These are great places to look for volunteering opportunities. Also, contact your local volunteer center; you can find this via the Points of Light Foundation web site.

Working in a library often DOES require someone with "people/social" skills. In fact, all assignments do, to a degree, so you need to rephrase what you are looking for. You need to look for types of volunteering opportunities, rather than types of organizations, to find assignments that don't require you to interact with the public. Types of assignments include: inputting data into a database, helping with a bulk mailing, filing, moving an office, cleaning up an area (playground, beach, trail, etc.), designing web sites or publications, and editing or researching information.
