So when I started the computer after shutting it down. It said that we are going to run a disc consistency check. It started deleting files and moving folders. After that the computer restarted and it goes to a black screen that gives you choices of safe mode, start windows normally, and start windows from last working configuration. I did all 3 and it keeps restarting over and over and goes back to the black screen. Please help me.

The machine is getting an inconsistent return from one or more hard drives and is confused.
Try booting the machine up on the XP start-up CD. Run a disk check from there and see what it tells you. Might also want to open the machine and make sure the connections to the drive are
a) solid
b) not covered with dust

your hardrive is dieing or ur computer is over heating causeing errors.
