Perfectly normal. Just like bringing a new baby home, the older siblings don't like the change and get jealous.
Give your older dog lots of attention, when you come home, pet the older one first, feed the older one first, give the older one treats first.
The puppy will quickly learn to avoid the growls of the older dog.

We had the same problem here when my grandson brought home a new APBT puppy. Our four year old APBT would growl and snap at the new puppy. Being that Pits are dog aggressive we were worried for the puppy. My grandson happened to watch an episode of the Dog Whisper. Caesar was teaching an aggressive dog to accept a pet rabbit. My grandson did the same with the two dogs and they are best buddies now.
Here was what he did. He put the older Pit on the floor in a submissive position, on her back. He brought the puppy over. If she growled he poked her in the chest with his finger and said Shhhhhhhh. It took less then an hour to solve the problem.

That's pretty normal. Puppies are obnoxious and often very rude, just like little kids. They need to be taught manners and one way older dogs teach pups their manners is by growling or snapping at them when they get too far out of line. How much puppy foolishness an older dog is willing to tolerate varies depending on the individual dog and the age of the puppy. German shepherds, for example, are often exceedingly tolerant of puppy antics and will practically let them get away with murder while sight hounds are far less tolerant of these annoyances. And just like adult humans expect more social awareness and manners from older children than they do from toddlers and infants, dogs are more tolerant of rudeness from younger puppies but expect more manners from older puppies. An 8 week old puppy that accidentally runs into an older dog during play might just get a dirty look or a lip curl, but a 5 month old puppy would get a much harsher telling off because by then they are "old enough to know better."
When your older dog is growling at the puppy, she is telling him to knock it off and go away. If he backs down and leaves her alone, then let it be. If he keeps at whatever he was doing and she needs to growl at him again, distract him and make him leave her alone.

Thats normal, make sure the puppy keeps his distance. We had a 12 year old Golden Retriever that was a real grouch as he got older and attacked puppies just randomly. We got a guide dog puppy to train and many times he got snappy with him and angry. But as the puppy grew up he learned his boundrys and came Copper's best friend. Copper died 2 years ago, we very much miss him.

They will, they are the master of the house, and they do not want to share with a new kid on the block...just make sure the attention for them is equal, your older dog should calm down, just make sure older dog does not snap puppy..
love the older baby alot and they will see you have not forgotten them at all

Sometimes, dogs just don't like to be bothered. It's like a grumpy adult telling a kid to go away. It may be awhile before the older dog adjusts to the puppy being around.
