I wanted do download custom firmware 3.71 M33, but I was afraid the PSP might get bricked. Also, I can't buy another battery, so i can't use pandora's battery to unbrick it. What should I do? And, does custom firmware allow you to play ISO games?

#1. custom firmware and bricking do NOT go hand in hand. Everytime you change the firmware you have a chance to brick. If you update to an official firmware, you can brick.
#2.If you cant buy a battery to make the pandora, then you need to either find someone who has custom firmware that can softmod your battery, then reinstall the eeprom memory after you are done, buy a mod chip ($90), or a new motherboard ($45). Those are your only options.
#3. yes custom firmware allows playing of game back ups from the memory stick.
