No, you are not too old. You are never too old to be confirmed. I was confirmed at the age of 38 myself.

Call your parish and explain that you wish to be confirmed but your parents have never enrolled you in any Catholic education, so you need guidance on where to begin. They will likely tell you that you need your parents' approval, btw.

Well, at 15 you are still within you parents home, most likely. I assume since you never went to CCD or have been confirmed that they are not practicing Catholics.

You are not too old. You should be able to attend RCIA but you'll need a sponsor. That's usually a Catholic who will help you, be there for you etc. I hope you know someone who will make that commitment.

My first suggestion is to contact your local parish. Tell them your situation and ask them to help you and advise you. I'm sure they will.

God Bless.

I did not receive my first communion until I was 17.

I did not receive confirmation until I was 26.

Just ask the parish Religious Education office. The staff should be able to hook you up with the right class. If not, go to the Religious Education Office of the Diocese. You will be taken care of.

I congratulate you for desiring to learn more about the Catholic Faith. You are taking that first step. Jesus promised, "Knock, and the door will be opened. Seek, and you will find."

May the Lord grant you His Peace and Joy. Amen.

The Church never considers anyone "too old" to complete their Catholic initiation or conversion. Talk to your parish priest, and he will see to it that you receive your (first) Holy Communion (if necessary, that is) and then Confirmation.

Since you've never been to CCD, you might want to do some independent reading on Church history, Doctrine, etc. Might I suggest a great website that offers free home correspondance courses in Catholicism?

http://www.amm.org/chss.htm

You can study at your own pace, keep the textbooks for future reference, and even receieve a certificate at the completion of each course.

I've taken three of them myself and can tell you from experience that the text is written in a down-to-earth manner, so you don't have to worry about anything being too difficult or abstract to understand. In spite of this simplistic writing style, one can gain a lot of wisdom from these courses alone.

Good luck.

Well, you will probably have to go to classes such as CCD and have your first communion. Then you will I would guess have to wait a short period and then get confirmed. One thing you might want to do at this point is to study some of the saints and figure out one that means a lot to you so you can come up with your name for confirmation. Hope this helps.

You are not too old. My husband, son and I are going through RCIA classes now. My son is 12, so you are not too young for RCIA. If you don't have someone close to you that you would like to be your sponsor, most of the Catholic Church's have Religious Education directors that will be your sponsor.

Through RCIA classes, you will have confirmation and then reconciliation. I have not heard of being charged money to go through the classes. The church does request for people to give their time through community service.

Have a blessed day!

You're never too old for God. Just go to a local church and they usually can put you through the process of communion, confession, and confirmation. It may cost a little extra cash, and some of your time for community service but it's well worth it! Good Luck!

No, you can attend CCD or the RCIA seminar at any time you wish. My youngest son attended CCD before he was married. Check with your local parish for more details.

You can never be too old.

It sounds like you also have never received the Eucharist (Holy Communion).

Call your parish office, explain your situation, and ask them what you need to do. They will be happy to help you.

With love and prayers in Christ.
