I'm not a big fan of traditional coleslaw recipes because I dislike mayo. But I really like broccoli and I was wondering if anyone has any out of the ordinary uses for bagged broccoli slaw. Thanks.

Try adding a different type of dressing such as a Raspberry Vinegarette (Marzetti's makes on I think or maybe it's Litehouse). Toss in some mandarien orange segments, dried cherries and toasted pecans or walnuts.

This one is really good. It sounds odd but the ingredients really work well together. I buy it from the local deli already made. You can use your bag of broccoli slaw mix as your head of broccoli.

BROCCOLI BACON SALAD
Ingredients
1 package of bacon, cooked to a crisp
1 head of fresh broccoli, just the florets
1/4 cup of red onion, chopped (optional)
1/2 cup raisins
1/4 cup of sunflower seeds
1 cup of mayonnaise
1/2 cup of white sugar
3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar

Directions
Place bacon in a large skillet, cook until crispy. Drain on paper towel, crumble and set aside.
Chop broccoli florets into bite size pieces. In a medium mixing bowl, combine broccoli with the red onions, raisins, crumbled bacon and sunflower seeds.
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar and sugar. Pour over broccoli mixture and toss until well combined.
Refrigerate for a couple of hours before serving.

One of my favorites is:

1 bag of broccoli slaw
Fiesta Ranch Dressing
Fritos

Mix the dressing with the slaw and add Fritos. This makes a fantastic lunch. (I do not like mayo either!)

I use it in Pancit instead of taking the time to chop all those vegetables. My husband was stationed in the Phillipines many years ago and Loves them. I boil bone-in skinless chicken thighs &/or breasts, shred the meat, cook down the bones in the broth and skim the fat off. I use that stock to soak the pancit noodles while I stir fry the broccoli slaw in sesame oil with soy &/or fish sauce. When the veggies are about done, I add the chicken and pancit to the wok, cover, turn it on LO and walk away for about 10 minutes. If you turn it off instead, leave it covered for about 30 minutes.
PS, Hubby grew up in FL and won't eat seafood (it's all just bait, he says;). When he is TDY, I make this with shrimp. I still make the chicken stock, but I use that meat for something else. Downright Delicious:)

I toss it with Good Seasons Salad Dressing, Asian Sesame with Ginger to give it an oriental flair!
