Im from Russia and i have say that ppl in America look pretty bad, alot of Americans tell me I dress great and i have good sense of style. For example girls in Europe look way better then in America ? why is that ? There is not to many American white girls that have great sense of style and if they do have great sense of style they end up beaing a really mean person, or just way to prepy. Her is an another example sometimes in town i see some person driving a really nice Lexus and dressed like cra. Why don't Americans teens and adults have a great sense of style just like European ?

just to let u know im 17 years old.

its the personalities if their having a bad hair day of course their not going to look great.. also people have "personalities" if you've ever heard of that and unlike your europe were probably not the preppy little cute girls that would let u do anything to them

Plenty of American women have a great sense of style. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Don't forget that there are tons of different parts of the US, and people in some parts probably dress better that others. I love vintage clothes, and I love to shop, and I get compliments on my outfits all the time. However, they are not for everyone. I dress to make myself happy, I guess...

People who live in other countries outside the US usually work a lot less than Americans. They go on Holiday a lot more than Americans. Because Americans work so much they are tired, tired, tired. Less time to relax and appreciate life. They get crabby, spend money on great food and what goes into their homes. Like the bigger the house the better they are. That is why people in other countries live longer too. Less stress. Why worry about what you look like when you worry about so much more like bills, kids, the hustle and bustle of every day life is so hard people barely have time to pay attention to themselves.

Young girls who do have the time to do it may only have to worry about homework at night and their parents may have the money to give them because they work so much.
The girls who do have a sort of fashion sense realized that other people can't afford or don't really care about fashion they think they are the bomb because they are ahead of everyone else and that is why you get the snappy attitude.

That's because some people dress not to impress, but to show their individuality. That's not true about all white girls that dress nice, not all of them are mean. American teens like to show their individuality through clothing. Some Americans have a good sense of style, but it may not seem that way in your perspective no offense.

I don't mean to be offensive, and I am not American. But you don't look so hot yourself.

On your MySpace I see one picture of you wearing a fairly nice black tee, but with what looks like pajama pants and some kind of shell necklace that just looks silly. In another picture you have a white tee, cheap blue old man shirt, and a white hoodie, that doesn't suit you. In yet another picture you have a base ball cap on backwards, which is so sad on a white guy who looks like you, and a nasty cheap looking white shirt. Then finally there is you in an okay blue hoodie and a Quicksilva tee; hardly the cutting edge of fashion, but then that was two years ago.

To round it off you have a picture of a cologne called 'Fierce' which is a bit hair dresser of you.

I'm not really seeing any cutting edge fashion in any of these pictures. In America we have a saying, "People in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones." Google it.

But I will certainly say this. In many parts of rural America, there are people out there who clearly have checked out of any kind of fashion observation. It's whatever cheap clothes they have in Wal-Mart, and some rubber shoes (WTF?). I live in Tennessee, and the people here wouldn't know fashion if it bit them in the face. The most expensive clothes you can buy here are Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. Hardly the cutting edge of modern fashion. I have to order much of my stuff online, or wait until I go to a real city.

I've also noticed that unless you are in a pretty upscale town, the night clubs have no dress code. People show up in shorts, cut off jeans, flip flops and a ripped tee and still get in. Growing up in England, you can't get in anywhere dressed like that.

So America certainly is more casual, and you won't see much style outside of the big cities.

Americans tend to dress more comfortably rather than look stylish. They also don't really care about how they look because they are more carefree. However, there are some people that have great sense of style if they care about fashion.

I know exactly what you mean. Although I was never anywhere outside of the United States I see it from your point of view.
It's because every body wnats to fit in. They want to be the same, Just so they can look 'good.'
They go by what everybody else thinks, Not by their own opinion.
They need to have their own minds and dress how they want to.

Maybe you and them have different interpretations of what "great" style is.

Because we're not here to impress Russians who care more about their looks than what life is really about.
