You didn't say if you were experiencing headache, an acidic feeling in your throat and stomach, or stomach pains. That would be a big clue.
One thing that could generally cause vomiting in the morning is that you are moving around, and just the motion of moving around is taking your previously queasy stomach to the breaking point. Instead of just looking at breakfast, what did you eat the previous evening? What are commonalities?
Have you recently started using any new (especially "decorative") dishware, such as a pitcher or mug? Some of these items are only for decorative purposes only, and can have poisonous effects when they come in contact with food. I remember a story about a woman whose condition just kept getting worse and worse. They suggested food poisoning, so they literally threw out all the food from the house. But she continued to worsten. They took her to the hospital, where she quickly started getting better, only to have a huge relapse.... right after her husband brought her a favorite coffee mug from Mexico (which was not properly glazed). That was the culprit.
How about any pill or vitamin supplement? Have you considered just stopping these to rule them out?
Since you mention that coffee seems to be a factor in preventing the vomiting, have you ever had kidney stones? I did, and drinking cola would temporarily make my stomach feel better. My problem arose, I believe, from taking an antibiotic for many years for acne. I believe they were the source of my body developing kidney stones.
Use the scientific approach of progressively eliminating possible sources. Start washing everything in the dishwasher; the hot water will eliminate the possibility of a flu virus.

Well, aside from a stomach bug, I would next consider some sort of food allergy - is milk a common denominator at all the meals? Could it be something you had the night before? Some candies have a sweetener called sorbitol or mannitol which can cause stomach distress and diarrhea. For the next two weeks I would keep a food diary - listing every single thing you eat - food and drink - and the time consumed. Perhaps you are eating late at night and the food is not digesting properly and therefore causes a problem in the morning. A completely truthful food diary is the best way to start and write down everything, even a glass of water. See is there is a pattern of any kind. Another cause could be postnasal drip that drips down the back of your throat into your stomach during the night, and causes the distress in the morning. If this problem persists, please see your doctor. Perhaps you have reflux or a hiatal hernia.

I was getting sick in the mornings and till about noon and it was getting so bad that it was happening every morning. I was 19yrs old at the time and I went to the doctor and all they wanted to do was give me a pregnancy test and I told them that I was not pregnant, but that's all they wanted to do and they said well they just don't know whats wrong. Well after about two weeks of this and talking to everybody I know about this a friend of mine said her uncle had the same problem and he had acid reflex. I went back to the doctor and asked If I could be tested for this and it turned out that's what I had and the whole time they were trying to push it off as something else because someone so young does not typically have that kind of thing. So I would suggest a serious change of diet. Do not eat greasy foods or acidic foods before bed that might help the problem dramatically.

I used to throw up every morning because I was stressed out. I still vomit when I'm under a lot of stress. There are a lot of causes, I would work on de-stressing and monitor other things in your life that might be affecting you. If this continues for over a week, go to the doctor.

Nerves? Sometimes if I'm preoccupied with something or if I have an important meeting to attend, I get a little queezy (sometime vomiting) in the AM.
You could also have acid reflux.

RE:
What would cause vomiting in the morning?
Besides pregnancy (which is absolutely 100% not an option so please don't say "eliminate pregnancy" or "just make sure" because it is absolutely 100% not pregnancy) what would cause someone to vomit in the morning? Usually about one hour after eating breakfast. It's...

Go to the doctor. eliminate some foods you eat in the morning to see if vomiting stops (perhaps the coffee).

Go see a doctor! Don't ask questions like that on this medium. Yahoo answers is strictly for time-wasters, weirdo's, bums, and people with nothing better to do at any given time. Me excluded, of course, I am here to help! But not with medical problems.

A preservative allergy, or a mild case of the flu. An inner ear infection can cause this as well, due to disorientation and vertigo.
