Im 16 years old, im about 5'7 140 lbs, I lift weights, I do push ups, I do sit ups, I shadow box, and I do cardio pretty much 6 days a week. Is there anything I can do NOW to improve my self in the future when I become a marine?Im planning on taking my GED will that lower my chances in anyway? I just really feel my school is holding me back because its a really bad school known for gang violence. Any ideas what I should do and learn now while I still have the time? any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

They look at both. If you're a drop-out in school, you're in a higher percentage of probability to be a drop-out in training.
Concentrate on your studies. Forget about the gangs. You're in school to learn. Not to fit in with some pre-conceived notion of socialization in a teen-age lab experiment. You can become a Marine while the gang bangers can become the newest guys to date in the cell block or the next set of corpses on the table at the county morgue.
