yes, there is a program where you can go in with a buddy and go through basic, AIT, and get stationed together. ask your recruter for more information about it.

There is the buddy program I think. The army also has now One Station Unit Training that means if you guys go into basic at the same time (which Im sure you can do) you will have basic training & AIT together if your in the same MOS such as Infantry or Armor. Also, dont listen to these people who say dont join or say no you cant buddy up like you want. Their just ignorant people who think joining the Army is bad when it will definitly be the best experiance of your life. They are most likely anti-war idiots that know a whole lot of nothing.

Yes you can both join and go and do everything together!!!! I did it with my best friend. Just make sure you read it in your contract that you will sign at meps and make sure you both sign your contracts at the same time in the same room. Yes the recruiter might lie and try to trick you but if your ready for it and see it coming you can make sure you get what you want. Just make sure you both stay away from infantry. Get a job that you can use in the civilain world. Trust me i know i was in the infantry for 8yrs. Better yet join the airforce if you can. Let the army be your second choice of the five choices, #1 airforce #2 army #3 navy #4 coast guard #5 marines

First of all, good for you. When you join, it will be the luck of the draw. If you have the same (MOS) you might be put in the same unit but not likely. It is hard even for married couples to get stationed at the same time and the same place. Often times there is a delay. Eventually happens.

If you are of the opposite sex of one another, getting married would be the only way. Although I would highly discourage that just to get stationed together.

The Army actually has a program where if you both pick the same MOS you can be in the same Unit during training so that you are with a familiar face. I'm not positive if they continue to your first duty station or not but there is no guarantee that you will get deployed together.

No. They send you where they need you. Period. I was in the Army and I had requested state side but they sent me to Germany. This was when the Berlin wall was still up. I don't regret it. Germany is a a wonderful country and so was the rest of Europe. I wish you well wherever you are stationed. My advice is to just keep your nose clean and make friends. You want buddies in the fox hole with you, not enemies.

There is the buddy program that lets you train together, and you also get placed in the same FIRST duty station. Nothing is promised after that first duty station though.

Good luck, and don't let anyone discourage you. Choose to be a good soldier and you will...

I have witnessed first hand where two friends wind up in boot camp together.
Generally, the latter will occur if the two of you are already in some type of introductory course preparing for boot camp; example: ROTC, high school military physical training etc...

I was in for 7 years and it was the tI'me of my life. I miss it and im thinking of resigning. there is a way to increase your odds of staying with your buddy. maybe not through basic and AIT but at your duty station. find a MOS that has few members in it and few posts where its needed. other than that there's no guarantee. You will meet other soldiers though that are from all walks of life and you will make lifelong friends from strangers.

I have heard about a "Buddy Program", but I also heard that they both shipped out to boot camp together, and then got split up at boot camp and stationed apart. You'll meet many new friends there anyway though, and you can keep in touch with your buddy.

The recruiter will tell you that you will as a gimmick to get you to sign, but it's a lie. Trust me on this one. I just got out of the navy myself and I'm well aware that recruiters will tell you anything to get you to sign on the dotted line, because by the time you figure out you've been screwed, you're on the other side of the world.
