Be willing to listen to her when she talks. Hold her hand, give her a hug. Let her cry.

Depending on your friend, you may or may not want to ask how she's doing. The best thing to do is listen. Let her talk or just sit and stare. Hold her hand, let her cry. Just be adaptable to her moods and always be by her side. There may be times when she just wants to be alone, but let her know you're right there if she needs you. People generally suggest bringing food. This is a good idea since the last thing on her mind is eating. Don't go for sweet stuff. Grab a bag of baby carrots and head over for a girl talk and some healthy munchies. She may be in a funk for quite some time and talking about other things can be very rewarding, too. Read her body language and react accordingly.

This is something that your friend has to work out for him/herself. The best thing that you can do is just be there and be open to anything they say without judgement, without saying that you understand (because you don't). You need to show that you are there regardless of how they feel or act. You need to be a friend, and sometimes this is the hardest thing we can do. Put your own feelings aside and let your friend express theirs to aid in the healing process.
I hope this helps.
