i agree, just because these men and women there SIGNED UP to go! they wanted to help the country, and do we want our children and our grandchildren to remember us for being heros and saveing people, or as the cowards that backed out? are we just supposed to sit back as women are killed in iraq?! we are all supporting this war! the US is not the only nation giving money for this! while i used to disagree, now i agree, because of a debate in my class, it enlightened me and showed me many things, and with terrorism, there will ALWAYS be terrorists! there will always be bad people, and i understand! but i think that getitng rid of SOME of the terrorists and bad people, is better than none! and now in iraq, women can vote, and have more rights! i think we should stay for many reasons adn leave for very few! i support the troops decisions to go!

tell me what you think about why our soldiers went "over there"

and why they are still there....

why they are keeping the war away from our front doors, 8,000 miles from our front doors, where our children play, where we work and go to school....

While Saddam starved to death children while he spent billions of dollars on palaces that included gold faucets. Instead of using plumbing equipment to purify water, he made lakes and waterfalls for himself.

1996:
"It is estimated that 500,000 Iraqi children have died because of the non-compliance of the Iraqi Government with [United Nations] Security Council resolutions 706 (1991), 712 (1991) and 986 (1995) since the end of the Gulf War. "

4 months before the opening attack on Saddam (November 2002)
"Despite improvements there are still close to one million children under the age of five suffering from chronic malnutrition in Iraq today - that's nearly a quarter of all children of that age," said Mr. Carel de Rooy, the head of UNICEF in Iraq. "This is unacceptable. More still needs to be done to end the suffering of a generation of children."

a soldier shared these links with me to let me know why they feel there are good reasons of being there, good reasons to support the war and the troops....

Disagree. The war question isn't about whether soldiers want to go to war, it's about whether it's morally right to be at war with these countries.

To judge whole nations by it's terrorist elements would leave every nation in trouble.

Since World War 2 America has been the largest sponsor of terrorism in the world, sponsoring terrorist units opposed to Communist governments and supporting groups like the IRA, the UVF andHardline fascist organisations. It has repeatedly attacked other countries out of ignorance and self interest while proclaiming it's aim to liberate an oppressed people.

The war exists because of Mr Bush's plain stupidity and greed.

Just don't condemn your soldiers for doing their job.

By the way you are just living proof that political brainwashng in the US school system is a very real problem.

More people die every day in Iraq under US occupation than they did under Saddam. Men, Women and children. You have been seriously lied to.

I disagree

1. It was based on lies and deceit.
2. The terrorist were not from Iraq.
3. No weapons of mass destruction.
4. Terrorist will not follow us home.

the reason for the attach at the wold trade center was cut out of the 9/11 commission report.
Basically our own people stated that the reason of the attach was because the USA would not quit meddling in middle eastern affairs.

So in the end they will not follow us home, all they ever wanted was to be left alone.

As long as we are there, we will always have the war on terror and keep loosing more of our freedom.

In the end that was the plan all along.

A political war is pointless.

Sadly, everyone in the USA has forgotten how to actually fight a war.
We are confused in thinking we can use diplomacy.

Our president's greatest mistake was side-stepping NATO which made us look like a big bully.
Even the Pope cleary stated to avoid a confrontation with the middle East.

We have the most trained and skilled military and we continue to tie their hands...
We started a "war" but afraid to actual execute the aspect where the term "conquer" is implemented.

Simple note: Either conquer the country/area and establish a working democracy or simply leave...
Another Vietnam conflict along with thousands of american/foreign casualties is completely unnecessary.

At this point in time, I definitely think we should get out f Iraq. We've been there long enough and even the people of Iraq want us out now. They needed are help overthrowing Sadaam, but we already did that so why are we still there? War isn't pretty and can be prevented, but we're not doing a very good job at keeping peace. The U.S sometimes tends to meddle in other nation's business. We are only one nation out of many, and we need to be at peace while we can otherwise all the moral values we once cherished and took pride in will be forever gone. I do agree in fighting for what we believe in, but not through extreme and excessive warfare.

i'm with "Virginia Gentleman" up there related to the furry section. yet I quite often disagree with the conflict because of the fact: a million). Iraq posed no possibility to america 2). we don't ought to unfold democracy worldwide. chilly-conflict-era reasoning shouldn't nevertheless prepare. 3). WMD possibility in Iraq improve into vulnerable while in comparison with different countries (North Korea, Pakistan, etc). Iraq did no longer at present very own WMD and allowed inspectors into the rustic..they became up no longer something Iraq improve into quite no longer something yet a distraction. we ought to continuously have concentrated completely on Afghanistan and the unquestionably Al Qaeda possibility, yet rather we've been fed strains approximately democracy, terror, and issues that incredibly had no longer something to do with Iraq. It have been given to the element the place a lot of people in usa wrongly believed that Al Qaeda improve into in Iraq, and that we mandatory to a technique or the different "combat the terrorists" in Iraq to maintain them faraway from us right here. And all of that improve into merely organic farce.

Certainly not a good thing.

One wonders if as 'they' say it is nothing to do with oil, then why doesn't the army go and protect people in Darfu that are being killed in their thousands.

Woman are being raped and their children and husbands murdered before their eyes. Then the women are being badly mutilated, such as; their breast cut off.

So why are countries like America and Britain not interesting in supporting these unfortunate souls? Surely these people need protecting.

After all the situation in Iraq though dreadful to say the least, doesn't compare to it.

So to answer your question I do not agree to the war in Iraq it should be stopped!

I think Sadda should have been removed from power back in 1991 with the UN's blessing. As far as that part goes, the war in Iraq was a good idea. However the reasons given for this war were not adequately demonstrated and proved invalid.

But, that's not even important really. Now that it's happened, the US has to recognize it's commitment to staying there as long as there's any hope of stabilizing the country.

if sept 11th was yesterday would everyone be yelling the war is wrong? something had to be done to send the message that we are no longer just going to sit and wait for them to attack us. who is on the defensive now? By the way i was in the army (infantry) for 8 yrs feb 92 to dec 2000. I was in somalia . . It is about time we stand up and do something to stop these people who kill whoever and whenever they want. We have sat back and watched these people do these bad things to each other and we have done nothing until now. Shame on us. It took sept 11th to make us wake up and realize that we can no longer just sit and wait for it to start in our own back yards. Where were you on sept 11th and how did you feel? These people have been feeling this way thier whole lives. As long as we are there to help them then we should be there. And if you want to know why we are there just ask the soldiers who have been there and seen what they seen and they will tell you that they believe that they are making a difference and helping those people who have been scared thier whole life.

Doe it matter? We're there and it's a mess. We need to let the government know we don't think we should be there, and that we need to get out, before many more Americans are maimed and killed. Write or call or email your Senator and Congressman and let them know you disagree and want us out. They're bankrupting our country, have already destroyed Iraq, and most of the money spent isn't tracked and isn't going where it should. There were NO weapons of mass destruction (our intelligence proved it) and Bush & Cheney and the Secretary of State lied to us and the UN. They pushed us into this war without an Exit strategy. End it!!

I agree, the reason they did not find weapons of mass destruction was because he was shipping them out of country to Syria while we were waiting for the dead line. Since going into Afghanistan and Iraq we have not had any major attacks on U.S. soil. As a American Soldier, I would rather fight the terrorists in there back yard as opposed to your's or mine. God bless the brave men and women who risk there lives so Americans can sleep in peice knowing there is no theat to them here in the U.S.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
