At a sushi bar I was once given a raw quail egg on top of sea urchin roe by the owner. I looked at it and didn't want to eat it, but knew I must or I would insult the owner.

I shoved it in my mouth all all at once. I didn't have much of a choice as the ingredients are so liquidy. That was the nastiest smelling, most fishy tasting thing I have ever ingested. The texture was slimy and it was all over the place my mouth. I tried chewing, but that made it worse, so I swallowed.

It wouldn't go down. I tried again and now some earlier food was trying to come up. I used all my resolve and swallowed really hard and forced it down. I was sweating and finally could again breathe, but didn't feel very well. The owner noticed my discomfort and offered me a Saki. It took me a while to recover. I kept it all down though. =0

When it comes to 'Main stream' foods it would have to be sushi, raw shell fish, calamari and octopus, tofu, liver in all forms... Unconventional foods - well, let's just not go there, I had to eat some pretty nasty stuff during pilot survival training in the Air Force.

Tried or like? I like eel sushi. Thats about the weirdest thing I eat and like. I eat dry oatmeal straight out of the package. People think that is weird.

I had a Thai soup that tasted like rancid dishwater with lemongrass. My husband couldn't eat it either.

c) calamari sushi

Edit:
Mussels aren't so bad, but you have to remove them from the shells before chewing.
