If you are saved, then why do you celebrate a obvious pagan holiday like Christmas?

Don't lie and say that it is to celebrate the birth of Christ, everyone knows that Christ was not born any where near 25 December. And the pagan observation of Christmas was celebrated hundreds of years before Yeshua was even born. If you cannot be honest, or if you give some weak excuse for celebrating this pagan day, then I would prefer that you not answer, and let someone who is at least honest answer this question.

I'm a Christian and once i found out the truth about Christmas and Easter i no longer have anything to do with those heathenistic festivals. The Catholic Church was wrong to mix our Lord Jesus with these pagan practices...I celebrate His birth and his sacrifice every day of my life with thanks giving...And once saved always saved is not true. It is possible for a saint to turn from Christ if he or she chooses to do something so foolish

No, you can lose your salvation if you choose to turn your back on Christ. Being a Christian does not negate your free will.

As far as Christmas goes...all I can say is "so what?" How is it that the pagan's get to own December 25th? Just because it's not Christ's actual birthday doesn't mean the celebration isn't intended to honor his birth. We don't know his actual birthday, so picking a day to celebrate is perfectly rational.

The fact that December 25th was a pagan celebration means nothing. Christianity has given the day a meaning that celebrates the true God, the birth of our Savior. This has effectively removed the pagan hold on that day...Christ overcomes Satan in all things, he is certainly not held back by pagan gods.

ONE MORE TIME- I do not celebrate a pagan holiday- I celebrate Jesus- just because Dec 25th used to be a day that a pagan holiday was celebrated on, that does not make the day evil- people make the day evil- I celebrate His birthday. How could Christmas be celebrated before Christ's birth, since that is what it means? I know that you did not want me to answer, but I had too- because Christ should be celebrated everyday!!!!!!!!

First I don't celebrate Christmas. Next no one knows Christ's birth. The Catholic church decided to just chose a day out of the year they chose Dec 25 to pull pagans away from the winter solstice and pull them into the Catholic church.

It is most likely Jesus was born in the late spring when shepards would have been in the fields at night time. No one knows so what day is purely inmaterial.

and I do not believe in once saved always saved.

i think of you're lacking the completed ingredient of OSAS doctrine and what's at the back of it, i.e. love and style. with the help of thinking of mankind as independent in the previous the Lord, you're bobbing up with an completely different concept of salvation with the help of rigidity. OSAS skill guilt, and the want for a savior, not selecting God off a menu or being rigidity-fed in case you choose the incorrect merchandise! "If not, then how are you able to state that a individual can't lose their salvation?" that's possible on condition which you eliminate thoroughly guy's skill to look to God for salvation. somebody could could carry you all the way via your existence that way, and a loving Father could try this. in the process the toughest cases, Christians have wish. place self belief in your self, as Peter did whilst called to stroll on the water, and you sink like a rock. "If a individual later rejects Christ as their Lord and savior, will God rigidity them to bypass to heaven?" we've a sin nature interior of us. That nature could reject God in a heartbeat keep for an impressive love that isn't enable us to bypass. the affection of Christ is a astonishing blessing and present, not a commodity you get to contemplate over like a labeled advert.

does the fact that the day is dec 25 really matter? the christian church needed a day to celebrate the birth of jesus so they picked one that was well known that was easily adaptable. the meaning of this holiday has changed dramatically since then. ask a random person on the street and ask them the reason they celebrate christmas. if they are christian they will say "to celebrate the birth of jesus christ". the fact that over 1000 years ago it held a different meaning is itself a weak argument.

John 10:27-28 tells us that once we belong to Him ..."neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.

CHRISTmas is about Christ, dear one. You don't have to like it or believe it, but we Christians do, so and that is never going to change.

It doesn't matter which day Christ was born on, because nobody knows for certain, so a day was set aside and it is just fine with us. If you don't like it, feel free to work on that day, even though it's a Federal holiday.

God bless!

What kind of stupid question is this? Homosexuals took the symbol of God's promise not the flood the earth and made it theirs.

Can we not also take a "pagan" holiday and celebrate it in the way we want to?

"He whom is baptized and endures to the end, the same shall be saved." Baptism alone does not guarantee salvation, neither does belief. Endurance to the end is equally important. Celebrating a holiday on the wrong day is a lot less likely to endanger your salvation.

And it began to be observed as Christmas hundreds of years ago.
Get over yourself.
Celebrate it as a pagan if you want to.
But I bet you don't.
