There are no prophesies whatsoever in the Old Testament about any rapture or 2nd coming! Jesus was telling some of the Jews that he was coming back in their own lifetime (white lie?), but they all died and he NEVER came back.

Mat 16:28 I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."

But to some other Jews he told them that nobody, but nobody including himself knows when God will send him back to be their King! Caesar God was a God King. God the Son Jesus Christ was the alleged God, too King of the Jews. The day of the 2nd coming to be their King will come as a total surprise even to Jesus!

Mark 13:32 (Jesus said) No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

The Eastern soothsayers came to visit the "Newborn King of the Jews"… The last question that the Jews asked Jesus was about his promised kingdom (Acts 1:6-7). Jesus told them to never mind!

The Jews were never delivered from the Romans, but they were almost exterminated. The Jews wised up and dropped Jesus very quickly. For Christians it may take a little longer. Each people have its own degree of gullibility.

No fault of the Jews. They really wanted to make Jesus their king by force, but Jesus chickened out! Very few Christians want the world to know this fact!

John 6:15 (NIV) Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.

The last time that he came to Jerusalem he made all the Jews to believe that he was going to become their King, but he was teasing them!

John 12:13They* (*big crowds of Jews) took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, "Hosanna!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Blessed is the King of Israel!"

But Jesus had no intension to become anybody’s king! He also told Pontius Pilate that his kingdom was not of this world! So much for the "Newborn King of the Jews!" Pilate had to put a sign on top of the cross to remind everybody about the recanted "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews".

Christians ALWAYS accuse the Jews for rejecting Jesus! Hardly any preacher ever mentions the fact that the Jews really wanted to make Jesus king by force. Throughout history a lot of Jews lost their life because of this accusation!

When I was a teenager, I used to babysit for a two girls who had a very religious mother. I spent 9 hours a day, 5 days a week, watching her kids in her apartment while she worked.

She was born-again pentacostal and believed the rapture was coming any minute now. She took me shopping sundays to get groceries for the girls for the week, and she would wait until we were in the car alone to tell me stories about how, if the rapture came when we were driving, I would be left alone in the car and have to try to park it safely. She said alot more than that, but that's the part where she always lost me... I asked her, what happens when all of those unmanned cars crash and kill people on the streets, and do the airplanes crash and kill everyone on board too? and other questions like that. The answer was always, yes, I suppose so.

I couldn't help but think, what kind of a mean deity would not only damn non-believers to hell, but also hit them with cars and planes and trains and busses to speed up their torment?

No, I don't believe in the rapture, any more than I believe in Rumplestilskin, fairies, or the boogeyman.

The rapture is just a false doctrine that has no support in the Bible. It's a very effective strategy the devil set up to trick people into believing they can postpone their conversion. But the the devil knows that there is no such thing as a rapture. When Christ returns the second time, that is it, it's too late for conversion. Therefore, many people will be lost because they waited too long to accept Jesus into their hearts.

If you want a real thriller, I recommend watching the amazing movie called "Final Events" which dramatically captures the rapture and other final events of Earth's history. You won't regret it.

Here is a short pocket book which covers the rapture in more detail and explains misunderstood Bible texts.

I do believe in the Rapture and I also believe that it could happen anytime. The Bible tells us that the generation that sees Israel become a nation will not pass before His return. There are two biblical definitions of a generation: for people it is 70 years, for government it is 100. So I believe that He will return somewhere between now and 2018 and 2048. But, I also realize that no one knows the day or time, save the Father, so I don't believe that it HAS to be during that time. Either way, I definitely believe that we are living in the last days!

some truly magnificent prophecies have come actual, yet i do no longer think any of them got here from Howard tenting. i do no longer think of there is reason for undertaking. i do no longer bear in techniques the perfect date, however the comparable component got here approximately returned interior the 1800's. Farmers did no longer hardship to plant plant life, and human beings have been having intercourse interior the streets with the aid of fact they believed the tip became close to. It have been given so undesirable that Joseph Smith, the prophet, testified interior the call of Christ that he (Christ) does no longer come that 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. it could look stupid to us, yet 1000's believed the be attentive to a preacher, while they might desire to have believed the be attentive to the prophet. Joseph Smith prophesied that the stars would fall from heaven interior of 40 days. that easily did take place on the fortieth day - November thirteenth, 1833 - the nighttime sky became vivid with 1000's of 1000's of falling stars. human beings stayed up all nighttime and watched in amazement. In medical words, the earth crossed the orbit of a comet. Atheists would in basic terms say he have been given fortunate, yet Joseph became in many cases "fortunate" in that way. He had many prophecies that got here actual to the letter. He advised Orin Porter Rockwell, the federal marshal and gunfighter, that he would under no circumstances be shot, and he under no circumstances became. He advised Dr. Richards that the day would come while bullets would rain down on him like hail, yet he would go through plenty as a hollow in his outfits; Joseph became stunning on the two counts. He expected the civil conflict, and that the north and south would call on different international places for help, and that the treaties between international places would bring about a international conflict - all of which occured. He expected that Jackson County would be devastated, that the only component left status could be the chimneys. The Union armies observed to that. He expected the fall down of the U. S. government. This prophesy became a minimum of in part fulfilled with the aid of fact the U. S. became ruled by Whigs on the time. They misplaced potential and not in any respect gained yet another election. The civil conflict would have been approximately slavery to those interior the North, even nevertheless it became extra approximately freedom to those interior the South. They feared that the U. S. government had already gained too plenty potential over interior of sight affairs. With the renounce of the South, "those usa" became "america".

I believe in rapture but we don't know when . The bible tells us of the events leading up to it, but we will not know the time or day. As the bible says it will sneak up on you like a thief in the night. you will never know til it happens so we must be prepared. I hope this gives all something to think about. It can come at any time. It is only the God above that knows the time it will occur. God Bless.

No. The religious groups which believe in this have been confidently predicting it at various dates since William Miller confidently predicted the Second Coming in 1843 or 1844. It has never materialised and never will.. The alleged ending of the Aztec Calendar in 2012 will no doubt arouse as much apprehension among the credulous as the notorious non-event, the Millenium Bug.

Yes, I do believe in the Rapture. And, for me, it is not important to know when the Rapure will happen but just to be ready to go when it does.

Yes, I believe the Rapture to be Biblical and to be a real event to happen in the not so far off future. By 2012? Only God the father knows, per the Bible and Jesus' own words.
