I just re-read. 12. that is a HUGE litter.
Do you have formula and bottles ready just in case mom needs help? Watch the runt like a hawk and try to get a mentor asap.

It usually takes around 2 weeks, but even after their eyes start to open, they will still take awhile to completely open. Just let them open naturally.
Your dog had a pretty large litter. Is she a pitt bull? Remember to find a quiet place for mom and the pups to stay. Soon, you'll want to find a section of your house that you can gate off or just their own room and you will need to cover the entire floor in newspapers. As they get older and walk around, the newspaper will make it easier for you to clean up after them, and it will get them adjusted to being trained to using the newspaper. They should not go outside until they get their shots, so make sure you keep them inside. Most pups get their first round of shots at about 6 weeks. After that, they can be taken away from mom at about 8 weeks, but do NOT give them away and sooner than that.

puppies open their eyes and ears at 2 weeks old
Also at 2,4,6,and 8 weeks they should be wormed along with the mother ( all pups are born with worms) Do not get over the counter but med from the vet.
The pups should start to be weaned at 4 weeks and should get their first shots at 6 weeks and start going to new homes at 8 weeks if they are eating solid dry food by then

Pups should open their eyes in 10 to 14 days. Their ears open shortly after that. You should not allow the pups in direct sun light for a few days after they open their eyes until their eyes open fully. They take a while for them to become fully focused.

2 weeks. my family breeds puppies and i know a lot bout them it is close to 2 weeks or a few days later.
