I have a very tiny black spot on my lower lip. It's not a lump, just a spot. It's very small. I was wonder what it could be? I smoke, but more and more infrequently and I havent been smoking for very long (please don't tell me I should quit, I know I should, that's why I'm doing it over winter break in a few days when I'm less stressed). I'm also 18 years old, it can't be anything bad right?

There's no pain and I don't have any of those symptoms listed. I'm pretty healthy otherwise.

I don't know if it "just popped up," it's pretty tiny, I may have never noticed it.

I have one too, but if you look really close it's really a dark purple. This is caused from biting my lip allot, a bad habit I have when I'm concentrating or worried. My Grandmother has one too. Also mine sounds a little bigger than yours sounds. If yours just pooped up, and looks black I would get to a dermatologist ASAP! Any type of melanoma or skin cancer is successfully treated as long as you get in right away. With it on you lip, you really want to get in quick, just in case it needs to be removed. Tiny spot would not leave hardly any scarring. So be smart, and get right in. I wish you the best of luck!

You should have a doctor check it out. There is something called a melanoma, it appears as a dark spot or black spot on your skin (which includes your lip). This could be a form of skin cancer and the sooner treated the better.
Good luck to you.

a shame. Care for your skin, mosty.... you facial skin like GOLD. You arent. Wash you face, gently... everyday, twice. Not more. Use Moisteriser 2x day...OLAY. Lip Balm. Do not buy expensive stuff... do not over do. Use a skin screen. Always at the beach. Most Olay, for everyday got skin screen in them. Drink Tea. Do not touch you face. You should OMG not have blackheads on you face for a year. Now get some Witch Hazel at the Drug Store, it is a lotion to calm you skin... old school ... but it works... all the best.
