Yes you can...
Put it in before you go to work with about a cup of water and some dry onion soup mix.
Set it on low and by time you get home 8-9 hours later it will be nice and tender.....

While it is possible to cook a frozen roast in a slow cooker, you risk having some meat overdone while the rest remains underdone/raw. You would have to cook it very slow and for a very long time to make sure it defrosted enough to cook through. It might not be very nice eating then, but its up to you.

Yes, but I think you are supposed to add like a 1/2 cup of warm water if it's frozen.

I say NO!
The best way to quick thaw any frozen meat is to put it in one of those Plastic Oven Bags and cook it in a conventional oven as hot as the instructions on the package will allow.
Depending on size and shape of meat, we're talking 30 to 45 minutes..
This works best for something like frozen spare ribs... almost ready to put on the coals and it's in the freezer... dangit..
put it in one of those bags, add some spices, pour off the juice-age to go in the sauce.... trust me..good stuffs..

Oh yeah...:) I do all the time.. Depends on when you want it. If you want it for supper that night place it in the crock pot (slow cooker) on low with everything you are throwing in with it. like veggies and seasoning. I always add a beef bouillon cube or two to it along with my reg seasonings and veggies.
