How come if we don't do what he says we burn in hell forever?
Don't you think that's a little harsh? Who wants to be a huge control freak like that?

And on another note - why is god so insecure? Why does he need us to worship him?

In the words of Jerry Seinfeld: Who is this god-person anyway?

I often wondered the same thing. I can't imagine anyone, not even Hitler, Stalin or Genghis Khan or Atilla the Hun could be anywhere near bad enough to deserve to be be ripped apart and seared to a crisp over and over again for eternity; not to mention all the other unimaginable things that are supposed to happen to you in hell, forced to drink from a river of the foulest fluids imaginable mixed in with sewage, raped and impaled on giant spikes and skinned and dismembered.

Any god that would LET that happen to ANYONE in my mind is inconceivably evil, even more so than the very worst of the human race throughout all history.

Again another example of someone lashing out at something you don't understand.

Why do you think He is evil??

Imagine this ........... If you were a father and you had children and you could do whatever you liked to try and protect you children wouldn't you???

That just sounds like Love and Compassion to me.

Your definition of God being evil comes from New Age idealists who tell us that we are all Gods children but we are not.

Also the world, earth, third rock from the sun, this planet is Satans Kingdom. This is proven by the fact that he offered it to Jesus when he was trying to tempt Gods Son. Lucifer said to Jesus he would give Him the world yet Jesus knew it would be his one day and said man can;t live on bread alone.

As for why is God insecure well He is not. He doesn't need you to worship Him.

Also Hell isn't forever after Judgement Day (and not the movie coz I know thats wot some dumb *** will say) all those God rejects will be cast in to the Lake of Fire and this Lake will be destroyed. There is no mention of everlasting punishment or torture in the Bible only everlasting life.

Jorse my friend I see u do believe in GOD.
If God was as harsh as u claim Him to be, do u really think u could have insulted Him in the hateful way in which u did & u get away with it.
My friend the truth is God loves u, weather or not u want that love it is there, He will not make u burn in Hell forever, only u will do that.
If u loved someone so much u gave ur only child for them to have u in their lives, & they put questions like this on a site u might kill them, send them to hell or worse make them listen to Walt Whitmen for the rest of eternity.
But non of that happened yet u said something so mean about someone who never did any harm 2 u.
God has never done anything mean to u.
He does not need us to worship Him, I worship Him because I want 2.
u follow Jerry Stinefeld I will fellow God.

Jerse my man: you have been listening to way too many fundamentalists. Bad idea.

1) God is not evil. Some of His supposed followers try to paint Him that way because it fits their social or political agenda, but like I said: listening to them is a bad idea. In a way it's true that "if we don't do what he says we burn in hell forever," but stop and think: what is it God wants us to do? Answer: love Him by loving other people and yourself. Not only is that what God wants from you, it just so happens that it's the best, most rewarding way to live your life. Coincidence? Methinks not.

2) lol God is not insecure. He doesn't need us to worship Him. Unless worship is a freely chosen response from a grateful heart that understands who He is and who I am in relatinoship to Him, then it's not worship and you really shouldn't waste your time getting out of bed on Sunday morning (or Saturday, whatever).

It's not God that's evil, but that mankind was born in sin.
And some refuse to admit their sinfulness, and repent from their sins.
It is not God that is insecure; but the world it self is very insecure.
As a people we were created by God, and designed to
worship God.

Romans 6:23 says - For the wages of sin is death; { eternal}
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God:
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that
is in Christ Jesus:

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in
his blood, to declare his rigtheousmess for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.

Romans 3:23-25

All good things come from God so He is not evil. God does not need us to worship Him, He needs nothing because He has it all at the tips of His fingers. He commands us to love and worship Him because this is what pleases Him.

Does THIS sound evil to you:

John 3:16-17 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)
Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society

16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[a] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

For those who have been saved by the Blood of Jesus, who wouldn't WANT to worship Him? After all, we have this promise from Him:

1 John 5:13 (King James Version)

13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Any other questions?

what happens when you dont follow rules what the government made? Dont pay your taxes, jump a red light, murder some one, etc., you will be put in jail.
You just thank Him for what he has given you. Do you not do that when your parents give you some thing?
