It's a soft floury bread roll, typical of Waterford, the names comes from the french "blanc" (white) - it was brought to Waterford by the French. You find it everywhere in Irelan but it's called blaa only in Waterford. People from other counties would say "It's just a bap"!

You get blaas in the South-East of Ireland mainly, they are soft white rolls. Nice!

Ahh, the blaa, its an Irish bagel, melts in the mouth, savoury or sweet delicious to eat, wash it down with a pint of Guinness and your set for the day.

haha..... a blaa is a soft round roll, kinda like a bunburger but softer and fluffy with flour sprinkled on top, you eat it savoury with ham and cheese filling ect. Found in the south of Ireland!!

louie louie is right but it is also being used as slang for someone from waterford as in "he is such an ******* blaa!" cause that's where you get the rolls!
