I woke one morning to see my boyfriend sat on the edge of the bed. He said something that sounded an awful lot like...

"snakes blowing smoke up their **** at the dinner table"

I said "what?" and he repeated it, sounded a little frustrated that I was not understanding. I asked him "what?" once more and he sounded even more frustrated while repeating it.

I then looked at the clock and realised he was late for his train, so I said "aren't you late for your train" to which he suddenly seemed to be more awake and start worrying about that.

Later on in the day I asked why he said what he did, he didn't remember saying it at all... however he found it hilarious.

Since we have been trying to work out what it could possibly have meant, if anything?

Any ideas as to what that could possibly mean?

Seeing a snake in a dream would seem indicate that their is some situation that he is not aware of or, has yet to surface. The snakes would seem to be someone around him who is ruthless or, can not be trusted. The dinner table may seem to indicate someone in his family or, possibly at work who is being deceitful.

My twin brother and I both have episodes of sleep talking, and one night he was napping on the couch, sat straight up and said "The ____ Knights are coming!" (I can't remember what he said before knights, it was some sort of descriptive word that classified them) He then flipped over and fell asleep on his stomach. I asked him about it the next day, and he had no memory of saying it, but vaguely remembered a weird dream set in medieval times where he was on the run from some sort of Knights.
So to make a long story short, I think what you say when you're sleep talking like that directly relates to whatever dream your currently having.

I don't know, but I've done it a few times, talked in my sleep, walked and even fought in it.

I was told, I sat straight up, looked at my sister, saying, "Who are you?" Another time, I did it again, this time, at my then husband and started cutting with imaginary scissors, telling him, "See how cleanly it cuts through the canvas?"

Who knows? I haven't stopped doing it, although the episodes seem to come at a time when I'm the busiest with kids, work, whatever. I'm afraid to ask my fiancee what I've said...probably stupid and nonsense.

Your dream (can) show you that:

Snake can be conceived as a manifestation of fear towards repressed desires (sexual).

Bed can be your fear,
or you need to rest even physical

Table is the personal life:
That can be rich and satisfying,
or miserable, it depending on the type of dream that you make.

The train show your desire for change.

The clock tells you that you must hasten.

Ciao
