My powerpoint slides with pictures don't show up when I do slide show! What is going on?

On the slide number, there is a small square with a slash through it! I don't know what to do. It works when I transfer the pictures to a new slide, but I have so many slides this will be difficu;lt. Is there an easier way to solve this problem?
