I have a yorkie and she's three years old and one of the main problems I have with her is that she doesn't listen to me or to anyone in the household. If I call her she doesn't come unless she feels like it, and just today she ran outside and she kept running even though I was calling her to stop but she just wouldn't and I live right in front of an avenu so I was pretty scare, she's not used to be walking on her own. So the question is waht can I do to make her listen, help me.

You have an untrained toy dog. The first problem is that you didn't research the breed before you got her, or else you would have known that toy dogs basically do what they want - especially if you haven't done training with them.

Find a dog trainer. Work with the trainer to make the dog listen.

You also need to immediately address the running outside issue. Put up a baby gate a foot in front of your dor and NEVER allow her past it without a leash.

I wish you luck in this, but you have to remember that Yorkies are not a breed that is known for their trainability - they just don't care! : )

Enroll in a local basic obedience class. These are usually 8 or 10 weeks in length, 1 hour class time per week and then you are expected to work with the dog in between classes. The class will cover basic commands of heel, sit, down, come, and stay, and most classes will also talk through common issues and working around distractions.

The dog is definitely in control of the house, and knows it. She needs to understand that in the pack order, you and your family are the alpha, and she needs to respect that, which right now she does not.

Although she is 3 years old, she is still trainable. Find a reputable class in the area, and go to it. If you are willing to put in a little time and a lot of patience, she will begin to listen to you. It just takes a little training.

Call the "Dog Whisperer"
(yeah good luck with that.....)
You need to find a reputable trainer in your area to help you communicate on a level your beloved Yorkie will understand. I know that stuff can be very scary.

training school! its dangerous for a dog not to listen to its guardian. she probably thinks she's the head of the pack, so establish your position as the leader and make her listen to you. the best thing for u and that dog is to get her in some obedience classes. if u really want her attention .. treats are always the way to go.

Not to sound harsh but find a good trainer and do it now. Training should have started when she was young, but most people think they don't have to train small dogs, but training is very important no matter the size of the dog.

first you have to teach her that you are the pack leader maybe by having you lead the way when ur walking and having her behind you and reward her if she does come to her and let her under stand what no means by punishing her. Not in a mean way like hitiing. You should wacth the dog whisperer on National Geagraphic Channel

You and your dog need to go to obedience classes so you can learn how to teach her what she needs to know.

She has no clue what commands mean if you don't teach her what they mean first.
