You should be able to marry as many men as you'd like, consenting adults and all...

If the guy could support 20 women and all the children, and the 20 women were ok with it, then I say go for it. You don't want more than one husband. You'd come home from grocery shopping on Sunday to find all your husbands on the couch, drinking beer, watching football, and no one took out the garbage or helped bring in the groceries.

To play devils advocate:

One man can produce millions of Sperm in one shot. A woman produces only a limited number of eggs. Thus, A man can impregnate hundreds of women and it is not necessarily just sexual gratitication he seeks but a huge family. Whereas, if one woman has 20 men, then it is only for sexual gratification, because their sperm will kill one another.

Polygamy is a biblical tradition, and should still be legal.

Today, people still practice polygamy, they just call it "serial monogamy." They move from one relationship to another. It is just polygamy without respect, responsibility or security.

Biblical polygamy provides for all of these, if everyone in the relationship is equal.

Many cultures believe at one time they could have many wives, but I have yet to hear the wife's can have more the one husband. I believe that if and what a man can do a woman should be able to do it to. I am a catholic and these are my believes.

My friend, all virtues are man made, and thus there are no such thing called "wrong". It's just what the society decides is "right". And since we aren't going to live in a jungle isolated from others we have to compromise and keep the law and pay tax.

I don't think polygyny/polyandry should be illegal. If they're all adults and all consenting, quite frankly, it's no one else's business. I don't see what the problem is. Alot of men who are polygamous have to provide for each of their wives. I.e. if they have 3 wives, each wife has to have a car- they don't share.

Adultry is a man made law, it has nothing to do with what is natural. [Scarlet Letter much?]

I don't understand how you being an anarchist has anything to do with polygamy.

It is wrong because in plural marriage, spouses can not be treated equally, no matter how hard you try. Ask the fundamentalist Mormons. (And speaking of fundamentalist Mormons, how often do teenage girls really have a say in whom they marry among cultures that practice plural marriage?)

As long as everyone involved are informed and consenting (NOT coerced, as has often happened in polygamous societies) adults, I really don't care.

Not me though...one husband is QUITE enough, thankyouverymuch.

I don't see gay people demanding to marry more than one person at a time. Your premise is ridiculous.

again, pologmy has been outlawed. because when women live together, their biological clocks align. and they all get their period at the same time. could you begin to imagine the destructive power of 2 or more women pmsing at the same time?
