I have a week old quite large tattoo on my forearm its all healing perfectly except for a small area on my inner elbow which is heavily scabbed the scabs having a slight yellow tinge to them it is also red, itchy and still sore
My tattoist warned this area might bruise (which it hasnt) but im worried that it is infected and will scar
Any ideas or tips on how to heal it?

It's fine. Scabs are normal and if skin moves more like elbows, ankles, necks, it will scab more naturally. I have one on my ankle and it had a defined scab due to the constant movement. It's not infected, it's healing just fine. *****, red, not scabbing over smoothly and going back to normal, and bleeding are not good signs. What colors are in your tattoo? Black turns to a grey in the top shedding layer as it heals, reds get some what pinkish, white is mirky, browns get really gross looking. It's just the colors fading out as the little bit of extra makes it's way out with the top layer of skin and scab. It will be getting back to normal in a week or so and will take a few more to fully heal. Follow the after care given to you, use a white unscented moisturizer and don't touch it just to touch it. Let it heal as it will and it will be fine. If you are still worried, go back to your artist and ask to have it checked out in person.

-No vaseline or neosporn. Light moisturizers are the best and gels lock in possible bacteria and cause the infection you are worried you have.

it sounds like the reason it's so sensitive is due to the range of motion that your forearm does anyway. Maybe you agitate it in your sleep?

I would just suggest lotion - DO NOT put neosporin or any of that sht on it.. just normal lotion. Wash it with normal antibiotic soap, then lube it up. Try to keep your nasty hands away from it.

It's probably just a weird spot of your body.
