If you go out with a guy, and he wants to split the bill, or worse, wants you to pay, don't go out with him again (that is unless you're one of those bra burning, hairy armpit having, feminists, in which case you should marry him). Guys don't try hard enough anymore. Also, always play hard to get and only say yes to the ones who try the hardest.
